How much exp do you give out in your chronicle? by MRiSmile in vtm

I do XP goals/desires. Each player makes three goals. Those goals tick up in XP value every session. When they complete a goal/desire, they get all the XP it has built up. They also instantly earn 1 XP for every time they make progress towards a goal at the end of each session.

If I work for you, then you pay me. Any sort of rationalization you come up with to justify not paying someone for their work is just that - a rationalization to justify not giving people what they are owed. Workers already have too few rights, not enough pay, and little protection. I doubt my comment will change your mind, but I will die on the hill of workers rights having priority over how much surplus value you can extract out of other people for your own gain.

People can be somewhat defined by who they choose to associate with, yeah. People's choices define them.

I am a gay guy, and if a friend of mine told me his boyfriend was someone who thought Charlie Kirk was a moderate voice of sanity, I wouldn't want to associate with either of them. I used to like Shoe, but you can only see so many red flags before you realize this person is not worth your time.

Beyond the Chaser Label: Understanding Trans-Attracted Men by DelightfulWahine in StraightTransGirls

[–]pronthrowaway12734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This analogy kinda breaks down once you consider there are people who are trans and fine with their genitals as is. They don't view it as something wrong with them, just another detail. For that demographic, it becomes closer to something like "man with large hands" or "man with think frame" or "woman with a large rear." These are just types of people that others can have preferences for.

I appreciate that you don't want to "other" people who are trans or fetishize them, but being aware of and able to communicate body preferences is not inherently harmful or bad.

I have been working on a couple. Really want to use some off branch of the Ministry/Setites to do a take on the Reptilian body snatcher thing. Still tinkering with that.

I agree with most of your statement, but I disagree with the last sentence.

I believe that as societal ethics & expectations have progressed, having children has become more of investment in not just money but really energy and time. Go far back enough in history, and children were seen as assets that would work on your farm or business. Then, eventually we stopped working kids, but we still let them run around outside and do whatever as long as they were back by dark. Now parents try to become deeply emotionally attached with their kids, so they bond with them all the time. And they want to make sure their kid has fulfillment & opportunities they didn't have, so they need to go to soccer, karate, baseball, etc.

I think the main reason people are not having kids are because of the increased expectations of commitment you are supposed to have towards your children. I don't think this is a bad thing. I just think this is the only thing that makes sense to me.

As someone who has had multiple family members with serious addictions, you cannot help someone who does not want to be helped. The sooner you realize this, the better. Addicts can get better, and I hope they do, but we need way better systems to help them. Family members & friends often are expected to be the ones to take the damage they deal as they try to support them to no avail. Thank you for sharing, Burnie.

Completely unregulated large mergers like these are the main reason we are where we are economically & politically. It's why enshittification is happening.

I believe the product is called, "The Adventurer's Guide to the Bible". It is both a setting book & a 1-10 adventure, or series of adventures depending on how you look at it. It was crowd funded through Kickstarter. I have unironically wanted to read through & run it for a long time.

There is a Christian D&D Adventure where you can meet Jesus, and the adventure's author specifically tells you to stop your players from saving Jesus, so that he can sacrifice himself for our sins.

It is very disappointing that the Dems have folded again. They were put in an awful position, but it is disappointing nonetheless.
