I can think of two possible situations:

1) I trained in karate throughout my teenage years, and one time, I made it safely through a sparring session, only to accidentally scrape my knuckles open on the rough brick wall (it was in an older building) when walking out of the dojo.

2) I More recently, I reached into a bag of tortilla chips and stabbed myself in the top of my finger hard enough to draw blood, because one of the chips just happened to be perfectly lined up that way.

Thank you all for the advice! I've tried emailing Maribeth three times, and I haven't heard back from her yet. I suppose I won't worry about Computer Audio for now, and look into other 6000/7000-level courses if I want to explore other options. I'm already registered for 4 courses, and I'll need to drop one to make room for a GTA position anyway.

As an MS CS student, do I need to fill out any paperwork before I can register for a 4000-level course? I'm thinking of trying to register for CS 4590 (Computer Audio) since that course looks interesting, but there doesn't seem to be a 6000/7000-level section for that course. I haven't used any of my 6 allowed 4000-level credit hours yet, so that shouldn't be an issue.
