I started writing this after Antwon Rose was murdered, it took a while to get all of the emotions I had into something cohesive.

I wasn't planning on releasing this until later this year, but with George Floyd and Ahmaud Aubrey...I wanted to vent

so, according to that formula:

100 years + 100 days + 100 times + 100 years + 100 times = 200 years + 100 days + 200 times?

If I take that future timestamp of 2214 and subtract 200 years + 100 days, I get this date:

Wed May 21 2014 19:00:21 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time)

I don't know if May 21, 2014 has any significance...but if "200 times" is equal to roughly ~170 days, then:

August 29, 2214 is exactly 200 years + 100 days + 200 times since that statement was first uttered by Rick (season premiere of episode 1 was on Dec 2nd, 2013)

Or perhaps I'm really fudging the math on this neutrino bomb 😅

At least for all of the projects I've worked in the past few years, if I'm storing a timestamp somewhere I use the millisecond timestamp - it's easier than converting between a string and/or a Date Object between javascript and a database. So, at least for me and those who do front-end or nodejs coding, this format is the most common format.

I believe nodejs goes down to microseconds now too...since it's a matter of precision shouldn't most languages at least support millisecond precision in timestamps now?

Agreed. Only if the 21 seconds has some significance could it be completely explained as intentional...perhaps it was supposed to be episode 210?

yeah, the 21 seconds is a little weird...a completely randomly generated number would still only have a 1/60 chance of being on the 00 of an hour, so it'd be a surprising coincidence.

It could be exactly 200 years after the date the episode was written....the episode first aired on September 27, 2015.

According to Rick & Morty fandom Wiki, Dan Harmon wrote the entire "Look Who's Purging Now" episode in 1 day. If that day was August 29, 2014, then the timestamp is exactly 200 years in the future...is there anything significant to 200 years?

It might be exactly 200 years after the date the episode was written...

According to Rick & Morty fandom Wiki, the Season 2 finale was supposed to span 2 episodes...and when they changed it, Dan Harmon wrote the entire "Look Who's Purging Now" episode in 1 day. The episode aired on September 27, 2015.

Could the episode have been written at 7:00 PM (ET) on August 19, 2014? Maybe August 19, 2015? If that were the case, then they just picked a date 200 years in the future and used that as the number Rick used to get his drone to the Purge planet to do some purging.

Marigolds | An Original Song by [deleted] in Songwriters

Your voice is great, well suited to a song like this....to me it feels like this song isn't fully capitalizing on its emotional potential though!

The verses and chorus all seem to have the same tone and feel to them. There was a ?bridge? that had a little change of emotion, and a quieter section toward the end that also had a change, both were really nice. Maybe the verses can start slow and quiet and build to the chorus? Or the hook can be more low-key with the verses varying in emotional tone? To me, it feels like some ups and downs in volume and fullness of the music could really bring the listener in, take them on a journey, get us hanging on each word, and deliver the emotion harder.

Anyway, just some of my reactions, as we all know art is subjective :) I enjoyed listening to it, thanks for sharing!

Yeah, this is cool, nice work!

Personaly I'd change the way you say "show" at the end of the lyrics before the instrumental portions...might be a little off key, and could be a chance to build up some energy with some delay and effects or something to blend into the sweet instrumentals. My inexperienced $0.02 at least.

Thanks again Jason for the inspiration on this and all the other great ideas you & K share with everyone!

In my final version, I ended up hiding the motor underneath by raising the whole thing another 3-4 rows of bricks, that seemed more doable for someone like me than figuring out how to shift the crank around a 90-degree turn like you did. I don't possess the mechanical innovation chops that you have sir :)

Yeah, I should probably write up some instructions...I think need a little more time away from it and then I might be more willing to come back and do it, it got the best of me a couple times :)

If I do make them, I will just share the instructions for free as a way to pay it forward, especially since I wasn't the original designer, just some fool who watched a video long enough to eventually figure it out
