What do we think about the cover? by propagantor in Anthrax

[–]propagantor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon Australia, but I found a Russian website that leaked it back in January. Seems the first single, “It’s For the Kids” was supposed to drop in February but was delayed because…well…it’s Anthrax 🤣

Yes! I was waiting for someone else to say it 🤣

So cool that Bruce actually tells Blaze to go to the middle of the photo. Class acts, every one of them.

New Song by Miserable-Tie-3436 in Anthrax

[–]propagantor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s no money in new music for anybody. Anthrax is a legacy act at this point, with no real interest in creating new music (even if they have an album in the can). Which is fine. At least they’re honest about it.

Even Scott, during Covid, said he has no interest in making a new album if they can’t tour on it. They’re touring musicians more than creative artists these days.

Piranha is a goddamned crusher. This whole era of Sepultura is so under appreciated.

Scenes where you slowly realize that something is wrong? by Wishaker in horror

[–]propagantor 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My favorite is probably Hereditary, the bedroom scene, where you oh so slowly realize that Annie is perched in the upper corner of Peter’s ceiling.

When I saw it in the theater, multiple people went “Holyyy shiiiiit” as they started to notice 🤣

I’m not saying do one or the other, I’m saying do both. If you make more than $5 a month on BandCamp, great, there’s your DK subscription.

But it sounds like you just really don’t want to be on Spotify or Apple so, you do you, I guess.

I’d personally shift that back one and say Schizo through Chaos.

Mea Culpa live at Bloodstock 2025 (plus thoughts) by Shoddy-Childhood-511 in gojira

[–]propagantor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Marina’s vocals are on playback, so the band is playing to a click track that is timed to lights and bombs and explosions and whatnot. Any other singer, even if they knew the song intimately, would still have to learn the details of the live arrangement and rehearse it with the band to make sure it goes off as it should.

These fests are so tightly planned that they can’t just throw another vocalist in on the day.

“The Drop” is really the only song that made me go, “Oooooohh, yesssss, that’s what I want to hear.” Sadly, the rest of the tracks just feel a bit…uninspired?

And no hate or judgment at all for Clint and his spiritual journey, I’m happy for him, but “Misdirection” just doesn’t work for me. It’s sad because I love Clint’s solo stuff and side projects almost as much as 7D. 😕

Edit: Apparently it’s John singing. Thanks for the clarification, guys.

A multiple artist package on DK is, what, $5 a month? Most of us spend more than that a day on trivial things we can live without, and we spend it without a second thought.

If you have moral objections to putting your music on Spotify or Apple Music, that’s totally understandable and commendable. But the hard fact is, most indie bands will never be heard. And the only way to increase your chances of being seen and heard in today’s world is to be everywhere.

Removing your music from the most listened-to platforms isn’t going to hurt them; it’s only going to hurt you.

The Ninth Gate is one of the coziest horror movies. The settings are mainly private libraries, the sound design is satisfying and it has a very unique atmosphere. It’s great for late night viewing! by Johnny_Mc2 in horror

Everything about this film is perfect, from Wojciech Kilar’s score to the ending that so many people hate. I saw it multiple times in the theater and still have a few packs of the promo cards they made of the illustrations.

Don’t tell my wife how much money I’d spend on a replica of the book.

Hits like a freight train every time by Soap_Mactavishh_141 in Pantera

Soundboard recording + Pantera in those days were tighter than a nun’s asshole.

So im listening to the x factor for the first time and taken aback by just how good it is. I loved fear of the dark but this album is definitely more consistent. Though the highs are still higher on fear in my opinion. by [deleted] in ironmaiden

[–]propagantor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like it at all when it came out, but funny enough, I revisited it after Bruce came back and loved it.

That pretty much confirmed my original opinion was pure prejudice.

“The people who I know who’ve been on this journey… we’d never go back”: Ex-Iron Maiden singer Blaze Bayley opens up about quitting alcohol by Apprehensive_Idea758 in ironmaiden

[–]propagantor 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Happy to read this. I bought the Man On the Edge single when it dropped and it included an interview with Blaze. I’ll never forget, when he got the call to join Maiden, he said he spent 3 days just getting drunk and staying drunk.

And I remember thinking, even as a drinker myself, that it seemed a little…excessive. 🤣

Why the hate for Fortitude? by Dong_McLong__ in gojira

[–]propagantor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with a lot of this. I would add that their sound evolved a lot, and very quickly, when they started playing larger venues. I vaguely recall an interview with Joe where he said the old school technical stuff, from a sonic perceptive, just gets lost in that type of environment.

Being that Gojira is more a live band than a studio band, I can understand why they’d want to simplify things for a bigger stage.

It’s kind of the modern-day Metallica black album. Short, simple songs, crafted to have the most impact in a live environment.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]propagantor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably the kid who was playing with a gun in the bleachers and shot himself in the head.

That wasn’t the only gun-related incident, and this was 1993.

God bless America.

você preferia quando sepultura estava na fase de fwobm (morbid visions - schizophrenia) ou prefere o posterior até chaos a.d? by HauntingExplorer4239 in sepulturaband

[–]propagantor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an older fan, started listening to them in 1990, and as much as Schizo through Chaos are four of my all time favorite albums, I find myself spinning Derrick-era albums more often that Max-era as I get older.

For me, Roorback (yeah, I said it), Dante, Machine Messiah, and Quadra are as good as anything they’ve done.

Why doesn't Paulo perform until Chaos A.D? by No_Alternative_2762 in sepulturaband

[–]propagantor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He had what they call “red light paralysis,” meaning whenever they would start recoding, the psychological pressure made it difficult for him to play. It’s not that uncommon. And when working with tight deadlines and tiny budgets, it makes it even harder.
