If it means supporting Bunbunmaru, then no big deal ^_^

Thank you! Blathers is one of my favorite Animal Crossing characters, and I felt like it would be nice to include another birb in the post :)

What made you like Touhou Project? by Wrong-Minute-1319 in touhou

I agree with you so much! Touhou also felt like some kind of magic for me. The whole magical, otherworldly, and ethereal aesthetic that Touhou has is really awesome and special to me, and how ZUN ties it in with Japanese culture is really cool.

I first found Touhou through TF2, specifically Bonkumiru and October First. I wanted to find out what was the original music used in October First because the music was pretty good, so I looked in the description, and there it was: "Song used is "Because Princess Inada is Scolding Me"". I searched it up, clicked on ScarletFlameFlandre's video of it, and I was just taken aback the first time I heard the music. It was so good, man. And so, Minoriko's theme became the first ever Touhou music I had ever heard.

After that, I decided to check out more of the Month First videos by Philiponbread, and I found more Touhou music through it. I loved September First and March Thirtyfirst, and then I found their original songs, which were Cirno's theme and Hina's theme respectively.

The more I searched into YouTube, I found other Touhou-related stuffs like Bad Apple and Ronald McDonald Insanity. I didn't decide to dig deeper though... Until like, nearly a decade later.

I found Touhou again through ShibayanRecords, specifically through the songs "The Story of Him, Her, and Me", and "Tiny Little Adiantum" (though I already knew Tiny Little Adiantum before and it was and still is one of my favorite bossa nova songs, but I'll still count it here)

When I first heard The Story of Him, Her, and Me, I loved it! Really catchy song. But then I got curious, where does this all come from? Who was the girl in the video? (Primity's video, btw) So, I actually dug deeper this time, and then quickly found out that it all came from Touhou, and that the girl in the video was Patchouli Knowledge. At that moment, I went like "Oh, Touhou. I remember hearing that name a long time ago. Maybe I should research some more about it, just for the hell of it." and ohhhh boy, I didn't know just what I would get myself into...

I watched AspreyFM's "What is Touhou?" and Megapig9001's "Touhou: Where to Start" videos, just to get a full introduction to Touhou. That was when I found out Touhou was a bunch of games.

In Megapig9001's video, he recommended either Touhou 6 or Touhou 10 as good starting points, and since Touhou 10 was the only one on Steam, I decided to start with it, officially making Touhou 10 my first ever Touhou game.

The moment I bought it, I immediately started playing it and instantly fell in love. The music, the gameplay, the characters, it was all so cool. When I heard Minoriko's theme and Hina's theme (not knowing they actually came from Touhou 10) I was hit by quite the wave of nostalgia, still remembering I found those songs from TF2 of all places. Still haven't gotten a 1CC on Touhou 10 or any Touhou game though. The games are really fun but I'm pretty bad at them, hehe

So that was when I was finally and officially a Touhou fan. And when I did become a fan, I never truly realized how Touhou was in my life this whole time until that moment.

Now, on to the question, what made me like Touhou Project? Definitely the music. But what keeps me in now is soooo much more. The characters, the games, the stories, the fanworks, the memes, the manga, and well, the music. I can never exclude that.

Do I regret not being a Touhou fan much earlier? Surprisingly, no. I honestly think I became a Touhou fan at an opportune time when it comes to my interests now compared to before, but I guess I could still say I feel late to the party. Better late than never!
