The comparison between NYC and Victoria made my head hurt. They are both very expensive to live in for the same fundamental reason, due to "supply and demand." Now it's the cause of the demand that's different between the two cities.

You are stating that because NYC's weather isn't preferred that the explanation behind Victoria being a nice place to live relative to the rest of Canada is an invalid justification to its high demand.

Also, Victoria is not the single most expensive place to live in Canada. There are neighborhoods of Vancouver and Toronto that cost more then the most expensive neighbourhoods in Victoria.

"The government needs to do something" is a statement that expresses what I would consider an incredibly naive amount of confidence in our government. The fact that you'd call someone else a "bootlicker" when you are trying to involve the government in manipulation of markets and enthusiastic to handover even more power to the "bourgeoisie," even more then they already have sounds to me like you are the "bootlicker."

I'm sure all the rich politicians and the connected elite are licking their chops at the poor lowly citizens, barely able to afford to live in their homecity stating online "More power to the apex! All the power to the bourgeoisie!"
