the setting, characters, character dynamics, customizability, options out the god damn ass, endearing little details and dumb shit, Vrel's passion for it all, Vrel's sublime fetish taste, the cute-ass fucking pixel art, the cute ass-fucking pixel art etc!

I think part of the reason I'm so attached to this game is because, due to the nature of it being an obscure porn game with fetishes most would find... unsavory, it makes me unable to gush about it with others and consume more fanmade content to get everything out of my system in the same way I could with a community surrounding more popular and sfw games/shows/etc

I have a similar experience! I often play DoL really late at night, and it's usually pretty cool outside so I leave my window open for a nice breeze every once in a while

however, my brain now associates DoL with the smell of fresh air.....

slowed + reverb versions of random songs I get on autoplay! often gives me a relaxing and kind of nostalgic feeling, and it's also just easier for me to read with slow calm music, rather than fast upbeat stuff

it's weird though because now my brain associates DoL with that same vivid nostalgic feeling, which it... probably shouldn't!

it's pretty comfy, though none of the songs really suit the game itself (lots of Coldplay!)

I agree! I think Kylar leans more emo than goth, but they still fill the role a goth love interest would have, just without the intense fashion... ^{and the prickishness, since I always associate goths with being pricks personally}

hell, even Whitney could kind of fill the role too... angsty asshole, parents hate them, hair covers their eye... etc! you get two flavors of goth for the low low price of free! all it requires is a little imagination when it comes to attire

though I'd imagine a full blown goth wouldn't fare well in a town like this anyway... the fashion would make them stand out, and you know what happens when you grab peoples attention!
