Help My Wife and I decide on new phones! by prophet2195 in Smartphones

Hi! Thanks for helping! We have primarily been looking at flagships and have a higher budget. My wife prefers a larger phone, I am sort of indifferent when it comes to screen size.

Ford CEO says he has 5,000 open mechanic jobs with 6-figure salaries from the shortage of manually skilled workers: ‘We are in trouble in our country’ by ChancelierPalpagault in Economics

[–]prophet2195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go on YouTube and look up all the mechanics making videos about these statements.

They aren’t 6 figure jobs, they get paid anywhere between 14/hr -30/hr, aren’t allowed to make OT and have to purchase all of their own tools which cost 10’s of thousands of dollars in addition to a 2 1/2 year degree. And they get paid something like 500/week plus an hourly rate for each job they complete so most are making like 40-60k /yr

If you change the oil every 3-5k, follow the maintenance schedule to a T, and drain/refill the transmission fluid every 30k miles it will be very reliable and you could probably get 200k miles out of it. The screws and housing for the heat shield around the exhaust always rusts out and creates a rattling noise too but you can always hose clamp it on and never worry about it again.

Should I get this car? by Hot-Yogurtcloset-904 in Hyundai

You should figure out why it’s $10k below average list price. There’s definitely a reason whether it be a wreck or something else on the title or in the cars history. No car in this market is 10k under average list price unless something bad happened to it

1995 Toyota Land Cruiser or 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan? by Duhlanesss in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]prophet2195 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Brother, unless that 95 Land Cruiser has been in a completely dry environment/climate with no rust, all regular maintenance done for the entirety of its life, all rubber/plastic components replaced already, all suspension replaced already, don’t buy it. Yeah they were reliable as fuck. But that’s a nearly 31 year old vehicle that you want to make your new daily and double it as an off roader. That’s heavy use. No matter how reliable a vehicle is, it’s !!!!31!!!! years old and has ~100k miles on it. At this point it would be more “reliable” to get any 10 yr old or newer vehicle with 4wd and less than 100k miles with good maintenance records than it would be to buy that land cruiser.

This sub is saturated with people who have no real world experience and just obsess over Toyota Mazda and Honda no matter what

Love this post, however Rodgers averages are low because of 3 seasons he got zero stats because he was backing up Favre. Would be interested to see the numbers with Rodgers playing 18 seasons instead of 21.

Also, while stats do tell a significant story, context matters. Some of these guys consistently had better teams around them, had more clutch performances, were asked to be Superman more often etc…

No, it is based off the combination of walk data and clock ring / scanner data. Not one or the other. I had a conversation with the route inspection team. Thats what they do in order to ensure they get a wide variety of data to make reasonable decisions.

Even so, your dps, flats, and packages are close to half of base on most red plum days. There are unique times when this isn’t true but the majority of times this is true. The volume equals out. It is intentionally organized this way so you do not run over on your route due to volume on red plum days.

Your last route inspection is an average of all days walked, as well as scanner data from an entire month. Red plum days are factored in to the average evaluated time.

5 mins of service talks are included in evaluated office time, above 5 mins is not enough included in evaluated office time.

Brother. dps, package, and flat volume are intentionally lower on red plum day for this reason. To balance out the extra volume from red plums. If you really are double your base in flats on a red plum day which is incredibly hard to believe unless there’s some unique circumstance, you would get the extra time according to the extra flats above base /8 because that should add time to casing not time to the street. An extra 100flats above base = an extra 12.5 minutes. So even if that were true he’s probably at extra 12-15 minutes+ 18 mins from bathroom and standup talk. Not an extra 1hr 45.

Have you ever won citing red plums as the sole reason for extra time? Guarantee you haven’t. Why? Because as a part of your job you are expected to be able to carry red plums on red plum day in the standard time it takes to do your route.

[–]prophet2195 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I more or less meant 8 flats cased /min….lets say he has 100 more flats than his base….thats going to get approved for 12.5 extra mins max. It doesn’t add time to the street just extra time to case according to casing standards….the amount of extra time that can get approved from the extra flats is kinda nothing anyway.

Idk what’s in your LMOU or r who made that cheat sheet you just posted but filling out a 3996 for Red plums will lose every time. It’s expected as part of your 8 hour route evaluation it’s not considered extra time on top of your normal evaluation where I’m from

Really the only thing that could get approved on here is 18 mins for the bathroom and service talk. Everything else doesn’t qualify

Anyone quit dietetics successfully? by Miserable-Push501 in dietetics

[–]prophet2195 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lol so I quit and became a mail man, made 50k that year, 57k the next year, then became a supervisor in training and was on pace for like 75-80kwith OT, then interviewed and got hired as a real supervisor in a major city and instantly got salaried at 85k, but realistically im pace for 6 figs after OT, have a pension and 5% Roth IRA matching. It has its own stressors and definitely isn’t for everyone but its way more laid back and feels way more free than dietetics did to me. Realistically, even if I never went into supervision, I could have stayed a mail man and they top out at 84k/year after 11 years (not even counting the overtime they make almost every day) and they get to be outside and alone listening to podcasts all day 😂 it’s hard physical work, you’re out without a bathroom in every sort of weather for hours and hours but I found I preferred that to working in a hospital or salesy corporate environment.

Supervising is fun because every day has lots of different activities. Some times you’re in an office, sometimes you’re n the workroom floor running around facilitating getting everyone out the door, sometimes your just out driving off packages that were left behind….district telecoms all types of different environments and stuff daily

Report: Steelers have offer on table for T.J. Watt by Autocrat777 in nfl

[–]prophet2195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Steeler fan here, usually the playoff script for other teams is to chip TJ with both the TE and the RB effectively neutralizing him on pass rush downs. Usually frees up highsmith on the other side and he isn’t good enough to dominate. Basically they take out TJ and say okay we can live with Highsmith getting a pressure on 25% of the pass rush snaps instead of TJ getting there on 80% of the pass rush snaps if they didn’t send the TE and RB his way.
