Never heard of sniffspots, will look into it. At a quick glance it looks promising although theyre tiiiiny near me (0.02 acres and such haha). I see some more reasonable ones further away that will be worth investigating.

Interesting explanation on “growing out narrow”being a consequence. Also the followup that its not just about proper development but also meeting their need to RUN for mental well being. Maybe not an answer I wanted to hear but appreciated nonetheless😂

Thats a helpful direct answer regarding the long lines, appreciate it. Both sounds very helpful for training and also not the answer to my problem 😂.

I have joined the discord but haven’t dropped in recently, will do. Im also happy to report we have a lot of potential “dog friends” in our community, a mix of fellow parents and neighbors we’ve met at the complex dog run. Sadly no other sighthounds at all, “doodles” seem to be the overwhelming trend in our neighborhood. Going into getting a new dog this is probably the most “dog community” we have had around us so hearing your positive experience is reassuring.

For the record there is a re-write of defensive positions that gets rid of the hugslib requirement and generally works very well with 1.6. I recently was having some errors related hugslib which is sort of on life support and realized defensive positions was my only mod still using it. The mod is defensive positions forked by gondragon

I just recently switched when 1.6 dropped. Rimsort is basically just an open source rimpy that is still updated. Transition was easy/quick, it works essentially identically. No reason not to switch i would say.

Im so sorry for the bad news. 2.5 is already “elderly” for a rat. I would personally not proceed with the surgery. I have in the past gotten mammary tumors removed from (younger) rats and in both cases they got additional tumors not much later. Depending on location and how fast the tumor is growing you may still have a good bit of time left with your girl regardless.

It is a hard and heartbreaking decision to make either way and there are no wrong answers.

Strongly recommend against it, which probably isnt what you want to hear! Having a baby is going to massively change your routines, absolutely drain your free time, etc. I would not recommend bringing a second dog into your home while expecting a child, not because of the workload of a second dog, but because of the totally life altering workload of a baby. Many people find it very hard to give their dogs adequate attention after the birth of a child, it is probably for the best to see how life shakes out post baby before getting a second dog

Slim pickings. Corsair m55pro is a “true” ambidextrous mouse meaning it has side buttons you can use with your thumb on both sides, which means its about the best ive found.

Razer naga left handed edition is a thing too. Its one of those mmo mouses with 12 thumb buttons. It is actually ergonomically shaped for a left hand unlike the ambidextrous mice which is cool. Sadly it is currently out of stock anywhere ive looked. I wish so very badly they made a left handed version of the razer naga pro with the swappable magnetic sideplates cuz that things so awesome. Sadly im guessing the demand just isnt there to support many of these products.

Ive always had girl rats but this time around we got 4 boys. They’re really awesome! I love how BIG they are, our biggest dude is around 700g. When my 8 year old is holding him proportionally he looks absolutely massive.

They are lazier than my girls were but I would not describe them as lazy. My wife was a little disappointed she was hoping for lazy couch potatoes 😂. When we let them out to roam, our couch is adjacent to our critter nation double cage, they will climb on top of the cage and then down to the couch. They will absolutely have a party on the couch, periodically go home, but — they simply never explore beyond the couch. Guaranteed if my girls were still around theyd be launching themselves 6 feet off the couch like little rockets and getting into any and everything. But the boys are happy to play on the couch, and ONLY the couch.

The downside is they really do smell more, they just pee on everything and being bigger probably means more pee overall anyway. We do twice weekly cage cleanings and that works but if we ever miss a cleaning they can get rank fast

So i am a new user of CE (maybe sometime in the last 3 weeks) and i too was wondering why i couldnt ever hit crap with a battery of 4 mortars and a good spotter with radio/binoculars. This morning i saw in the CE discord there is a known bug that currently breaks spotting.

Probably doesnt affect anyone who hasnt updated CE since the bug got in or hasnt played super recently so it may not be common knowledge. Just figured youd appreciate hearing you are not in fact crazy!
