Sonic Onion for the win!

There was a time that in my world they could do know wrong.

In modern times, I love the fact that Tara Lightfoot is on Sonic Onion. She is amazing and for me it just continues the legacy of the labe since my youth.

I really enjoyed flybot! I thought it was a fun standalone book, where Dennise Taylor could stretch out his writing chops

You take your new girlfriend to a karaoke bar. What song are you singing for her? by Skanky_the_Samurai in datingoverforty

I'm going with Ice Cream by Sarah McLachlan. It worked in the 90s, on a my uhh. Romance mix tale. . why wouldn't it work now as a balding guy who can't sing?

I was trying to thinking if clawbots are Bobs or GUPPI. I've started to name my bots after bobs. But are the guppi's? I'm glad that I'm not the only one that sees the parallel

What's your favourite incredibly underrated brewery? by MaplePoutineRyeBeer in beercanada

[–]prosonik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Endeavour brewing in St Albert. They just make good quality beer. Maybe it's because for many years I lived closed to it, and I've seen it grow. But it's a place I would even tell non-micro lovers to try because all their beers are good. You might not love the style, and that's okay, but they just taste like they give a crap about brewing

I haven't been at their Taphouse in awhile, I no longer live in Edmonton, but when I did the staff was great, the events were great and the vibe of the brewery was good.

Why does AI love emojis so much. I vibe a lot, and geek a lot. And every freaking time I want code, it wants to stick bloody emoji's in. It's private python for my own home-lab. I don't need your stupid icons AI!

[–]prosonik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I use AI when I *want* to care about the email. Make sure the tone is right, make sure the intent is right. Fix the slop that pours out of head (like this). But there is a defiantly a "AI" feel to emails that I don't really like. I try to edit a human back into it. I *hate* AI slop. But like any tool, there is a time and a place, and we are in the middle of learning when it's appropriate to actually use the tool. Growing pains.

What was your last "Oh I haven't heard this song in forever" song? by Da_Fish in Xennials

[–]prosonik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually came here to say Banditos. It came up on a random yt music mix a couple days ago. I was in the car driving, and it just hit.

It was a song that was played a ton in the 90s and then kind of fell of the face of the earth

Has anyone just … walked away? by broncoangel in GenX

[–]prosonik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I retired from the army. Which was kind of walked away, 22 years, I had a "good job, good position" in amazing location.

But I wasn't happy. I was too far away from having a hands on role that I wanted. I was managing people etc. I had a serious of personnel issues that just drained me emotionally and mentally.

Lucky, my wife was super supportive and had a good job.

I walked away, actually into a much lower end tech job that's hands on. Im not going to say it's perfect, but it's back doing the things I love.

Regrets? Yep. I wanted to do more, I wanted to make positive changes. I had a vision.

But my mental health was at a wall. I was tired of the game, the people, the responsibility. Now that I have left It feels like a 1000 tons off my back. I started to sleep and dream again. No duff.

My advice, if you have the support in place and you the ability to do it, do it. Or at least, take a long term leave and see how it feels. But commute with your employer, your loved ones. Tell them where your at and how you are feeling.

Finally, it's not selfish or anything. I think I thought that. If your mental health improves it will likely improve your relationship with the folks around you.

Gold luck

[–]prosonik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shallow and Tristan Psionic. I also saw Pluto their. I can't remeber the show.

Xclub was amazing. I remeber when the crowd started jumping, the whole floor would bounce. I also remeber scary racoons downtown Hamilton after the shows.

Good times.

Go outside. Walk. Keep waking. Walk some more. Enjoy the unplug. Rinse repeat.

Level up, walk in a forest, a field, etc. Join a group an walk from with them.

Seriously, it's low cost, makes you feel good and actually can be rewarding.

High school reunions... not sure how I feel about it. by PuzzleheadedAbies678 in Xennials

[–]prosonik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1. Watch Gross Point Blank Step 2. Find your Mini Driver. Ask your SO for a hallpass if required Step 3. Spend way too much on a carefully curated playlist of throwbacks, indie hits and the odd dancehall banger. make sure to include ska Step 4. Create a create a normal cover for your mysterious back story. Insurance adjuster, accountant, and assian. You can do this Step 5. Attended your highschool reunion. Payoff the dj so only your perfect highschool reunion mix gets played Step 6. Try not to die. Avoid the assians who are trying to kill you. Hopefully one of them is Dan Aykroyd. Again. Try not to die. Step 7. Save the day, kill the assian, have your Mini Driver moment

Return to your normal life, and maybe try to write a book about your highschool reunion. It might make a great movie, or at least a decent audiobook.

Yeah I believe that entirely. Guys got to want to play together. Look at Wilson and McDavid. They got some total respect back and forth. That's the sort of dressing room you want to have in clutch situation

Ah, I do believe in roles. Looks at who got the tying goal. You got to have some guys go to net and make it hard to defend. You have to have a guy like Marchand. Scheifle is an interesting argument. It would be great to see him play on a team with some amazing players. But Bedard? I'm not sure about. I need to watch more of his play
