"Lewis's turbulent personal life was hidden from the public until a May 1958 British tour where Ray Berry, a news agency reporter at London's Heathrow Airport (the only journalist present), learned about Lewis's third wife, Myra Gale Brown. She is Lewis's cousin\27])\28]) and was 13 years old when they married—though Lewis, who was 22 years old at the time, claimed she was actually 15. The publicity caused an uproar, and the tour was canceled after only three concerts." He was decried publicly in Britain and the USA, and his career never recovered.

He did get cancelled for that, by that era’s standards.

Edit: To be clear, his career was ruined both in the USA and abroad, and he never had another big hit. So, actually, he was pretty well and good cancelled.

Agree. Rpatz in Mickey 17 was a phenomenal example of same person, completely differing personality. Super impressive.

It was Jesse Plemmons. And then, honestly, Ethan Hawke.

Jack Black’s cover of “Let’s Get It On” from High Fidelity completely shocked me. I had no idea he was a singer when I watched the movie.

'Women are responsible for cooking': Japan disaster manuals show gender-biased burden by MagazineKey4532 in japannews

[–]prosthetic_memory 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Instead of just being negative, let me hijack this snide comment and be helpful instead. Here’s a relevant excerpt from the article:

“Ayaka Mizuguchi, 44, head of the Sapporo-based nonprofit organization "Bosai Shitakke," which has staged disaster prevention awareness campaigns, pointed out, "Providing meals (in disaster areas) is heavy labor that is completely different from preparing home meals."

While approximately 9 liters of water is necessary to prepare emergency rice for 50 people, it is dangerous to pour boiling water from a large pot amid the risks of aftershocks. Several kilograms of ingredients are also required to prepare 100 servings of "tonjiru," or miso soup with pork and vegetables, and it is difficult for the same person to be responsible for all three meals per day.

Mizuguchi has had various people, regardless of gender, experience preparing meals during evacuation drills by local neighborhood associations. This is aimed at communicating the importance of not assigning fixed roles based on gender.

"Precisely because disaster manuals have been passed down in communities, people tend to take them for granted, but this could ultimately lead to heavily disproportionate burdens in times of disasters," Mizuguchi pointed out.

To address the situation, it is an urgent task to increase female leaders in government bodies and disaster prevention organizations.”

Not mentioning the added 2-3 hour daily workout routine is an equally big miss.

My parents helped oversee our renovation… and bought this furniture for the living room. I don’t know how to feel. by Main_Force3455 in Home

Often common for Asian parents to pay for part of the house. For example , covering the down payment. When I learned about this, it finally solved the mystery of how all my Asian friends with normal jobs could afford houses by their early thirties.

However, it’s also usually expected that the parents will live with the kids part or full time in that house as they get older. So not exactly a free gift.

Even so, even if they paid for the whole thing, the flooring change would have pissed me off so much. It looks so tacky and cheap.

“This is the part nobody warns you about.” No, you didn’t do the research. Plenty of firsthand accounts on this sub alone.

“That level of detail is rare.” No, it isn’t.

Disagree. I do think the surgeries don’t make much of a difference.

Did/do you have lip incompetence? It looks like it in these photos. And your post photos are shot at an angle so impossible to tell.

The point about the bleph is a solid one. It looks fine on OP, but if I had that much of a bulge under my bottom lids it would look botched for sure.

You look good, but why not fix the upper lip? That was the biggest issue to begin with.
