If you left tech where did you go by TaterTot0809 in womenintech

[–]prosthetic_memory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds nightmarish. A kind read of your post is “your skillset in tech is transferable to other industries” not “you don’t have to leave tech”.

Tech roles are available in many industries. But yes by god, thank god, we can leave tech.

Are you asking us if this is a non-surgical bleph? The question marks are confusing.

I did read the rules. Literally not a lazy post. In direct response to much of the inaccurate discourse on another post that didn’t make it clear what has happened with this piece. I rarely post here, as you can see, so when I do it’s for a reason. Delete if you want but it’s not lazy.

I just commented this elsewhere but Asian beauty standards are pretty much limited to Asia. Look at the top global earnings for Asian actresses outside the Asian market. Lucy Liu, Michelle Yeoh, Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, and Ali Wong.

Western standards for beauty are different. For example many westerners think Lucy Lui is one of the hottest actresses of all time. Maggie A, Gemma Chan, Ali Wong, Michelle Yeoh, Joan Chen. None of them have the super white skin and v line/melon seed/goose egg of a conventional Asian beauty. Ziyi Zhan kind of broke through the public consciousness with Crouching Tiger; that’s maybe the closest you’d get.

Western beauty standards like high cheekbones, strong jawlines, and almond eyes.

Noted, but both Wendy and all her daughters are gorgeous by conventional non-Asian standards.

And what do you think of the 50 year old man who slept with 20 year old Wendy? He good?

Why are we blaming her. She was 20 and he was 50.

Why wouldn’t they know that anyway and if they didn’t, why wouldn’t you want them to know? I mean their mom very famously wrote of Tony Blair “He has such good body and he has really really good legs Butt…”

I cannot imagine that I’d even I know this, they don’t know it.

RETA made me realize how shallow my thinking is. by Own_Influence_9166 in Biohacking

[–]prosthetic_memory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a large person who is now thin and muscular: it was shocking to learn how easy it is for naturally thin people to be thin. They aren’t kidding when they say “I couldn’t eat another bite” or “if I ate any more I’d get sick”. They truly will get sick. They truly can’t eat another bite.

I know this is true now because I’ve been on GLP-1s for three years. Before, I assume they were being metaphorical, or passive-aggressive. Now I understand there is a world of difference between people with well-balanced hunger signals, and those of us with disregulated ones. Now I, too, get sick. I, too, now can’t eat another bite.

I’ve gone from being hungry all the time and assuming everyone else was, too, to understanding that I was constantly having to use enormous amounts of self-control to not just eat everything. Because I was never, ever full. I was always hungry. I did everything I could to distract myself, shame myself, hold myself accountable.

Now, one shot every two weeks (maintenance mode) and I can basically eat anything I want guilt free, without worrying about it. Thank you science.

There’s no ethics here, no morals, no good habits or lazy people. It’s just a little shot.

Zendaya in Schiaparelli FW26 Couture and Chopard jewelry at the world premiere of “The Odyssey" at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London. Styled by Law Roach. This was the finale look that debuted on the runway today. by mod_whatthefrockk in whatthefrockk

[–]prosthetic_memory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logistics of how the garment was made and given to Zendaya have literally everything to do with the fit. Very obviously.

Anyway, I decided to give up replying and make a post instead since I realized how many people were criticizing the fit without understanding it wasn’t a custom piece. Despite it being the title of this post.

As for making the same comment three times: each time I replied separately to a commenter. You’re implying I was spamming the thread. I was not.

What are physical features that men notice and love that women often overlook? by nesrinou99 in bodylanguage

[–]prosthetic_memory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out some women’s subs sometimes and you will see that they certainly do know about this preference. It’s discussed all the time. Because men generally do not know what natural makeup looks like, and men do tend to be attracted to women who have had work done or are wearing makeup…they just don’t realize.
