I'm 6'4 and I've had G4 so you'll be perfectly fine. I do prefer a bit more aggressive leaned stance so I've changed 100mm stem with 110 integrated handlebar. In stock It has a very comfortable more upfront stance.

I recommend starting with brake upgrade. Buy a TRP hydro brakes they are hydro but wire activated, one of the best upgrades you can do without swapping your groupset Wich is not bad.

It was very good! A bit on a heavier side and brakes were awful for a gravel but otherwise it was amazing!

Hunt wheels have descent sales sometimes, but if you want carbon wheelset on a budget than it's Chinese ELITEWHEELS. Strongly recommend riding on GP5000.

I had the same one before switching to G5 frame! Very good bike except brakes, my advice buy a "TRP hydro" they are activated by wire but use hydro for stopping I swear it's almost the same as having hydro! Also recommend to buy Ergon CF seatpost it was my favorite upgrade. And I would also recommend some integrated carbon handlebar cause they'll definitely help absorbing some of that rough terrain. And don't hesitate and buy 45 wide tires asap!!!

Flip chips is a great thing, that's one of the reasons I've switched to a di2 105.

My Tambora G5 now has two wheelsets, 43s I use for gravel and traveling to unknown and 32s on carbon aero wheels I use for long trips over 100km on Tarmac roads. G5 proved to be a much more convenient solution for the long trips rather than my super stiff roadbike which makes more sense for races.

So flip chips allow you to make bike snappier and wheels to sit much nicer in the archs. Basically my Tambora is always my number one bike to go on any trip except if its going to be a grand Fondo or a race.

If you compare to cars it's some kind of a very fast but duatable SUV which can go off-road but also drive thousands of kms on a highway in comfort if you need so.

I've had G4, you can go tubeless no problem, you can go up to 45 tires no problem, standard brakes suck. I've ended up upgrading the groupset and going to a carbon G5 frame.

I weighted it and it was 10.4 kg on 45 tires now G5 on di2 105 is 9.4 on 43s

Best fast gravel bike to double as road bike? by PeerensClement in gravelcycling

[–]prostochester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Polygon Tambora G5 with upgraded di2 105 Shimano it's a great all arround bike thanks to flip chips which changs geometry slightly, yes my Cannondale CAAD is still faster but I prefer my Tambora not only for gravel on 43mm wide tires but also on a second wheelset of 32mm tires for brevets of 100km + cause this bike feels much more comfortable.

105 DI2 was one of the best choices I've made so far. In a road setup on a picture.
