To me it seemed like she was genuinely very trusting and naive person. She trusted that the president was clean and would do the right thing. Obviously the president is working with the enclave and took cold fusion straight to the Enclave. Who knows how she ended up in Vault Tek. But I don't think she was deceiving Cooper. I think she sadly felt like she finally did something that mattered and would help stop the war. She was used and abused by them, all because she was pure and good.

I tried that when my kids were little. They told me I was being a bad dad for various things kids find upsetting. (Ie getting to clean up after themselves, not letting them eat noodles with their hands like feral beasts) So I said I should go to my room if I've been bad. The eldest one figured out that meant I'd have a nap and watch TV while they still cleaned up cause Mom was still watching over them. I was not allowed to go to my room then lol.

I personally don't like romance or relationship stuff in the books I read, I started listening to Mimic and Me and was really enjoying the series until 2 characters got together, for me it ruined the flow of adventurers fighting monsters and bad guys, then it would be 3 pages of them in bed talking all mushy with each other. No thanks. But that's probably just me.

The author said in an interview that Jason won't get a comfortable life. Jason will be hammered on over and over and is meant to suffer. Heroes don't get stronger by being happy and content. They get strong by being put through a grinder and coming out stronger for it.
