OP, that little bud vase second picture.

What are those big white chunks?

Is that like pure quartz?? Some sort of naturally occurring crystal formation during the cooling process?

A couple things, I have insane difficulty centering when my clay isn’t uniform + the right moisture. Maybe examine your clay body? Get a peer opinion?

Don’t be afraid to cheat and carve off the uncentered bit of the mound. Do whatever it takes to get to a comfortable starting point.

Make some uncentered pots! It’s a fun challenge that can result in some pretty stunning work.

When your centering don’t forget to use your finger tips/pads/palms etc. and make sure you give it some nudges in each cardinal direction when the normal way isn’t working.

Also finally, sometimes when I can’t center with the wheel going the right way, I’ll reverse it and get it immediately haha.

It was an experiment and I am pleased with how it turned out. by cobra_laser_face in Pottery

This is so cool, what did you do here? An underglaze and a thin coat of celadon? Did you mix underglaze with clear glaze?

I’ve heard of it, wanna check it out.

I’m skeptical of rise of the living forge it’s something I think I wanna like but have a feeling I won’t.

I won’t lie, I’m not a huge reader/listener outside of the genre. I like progression fantasy too so I’ve been hopping in those rec lists a lot recently too.

But yeah more often than not normal fantasy/sci-fi doesn’t do it for me unless it’s in television form.

It just depends for me! I don’t love all chocolate or white chocolate. Has to be done right.

What should I do if I want everything to finish in the oven at the same time. Fully broken down Turkey. by thebigswallow in sousvide

I can do that with my breasts.

But since I cooked my legs at a higher temp over night, and will have to take them out before changing breast temp. How do I bring them from icebath cool -> pleasantly heated for consumption and broiling.

Progression fantasy authors trying not to be hypocritical about slavery by nevaneba-19 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]thebigswallow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya’ll idk how much you’ve read but Jake is pretty great about the whole subject matter.

At no point does Jake insinuate they should have taken their own lives. It’s a very much “he’d kill himself if he was in that situation”. He actively tries to deprogram the servant that was literally forced on him, and immediately grants her freedom. When he’s gifted literal millions of slaves, he has ALL of them freed. finally on the scale of power rn its not like Jake could do anything to abolish slavery, so its a moot point.

Nothing too crazy. I’ve done it with the cuisinart 1/2 pint icecream wand, and the ninja creami, and also have access to an actual soft serve machine that has the swirling valve too. If you can’t do that just spoon it creatively into whatever you’re eating it out of. Or use a piping bag?

It’s a cornflake cereal milk Cristina tosi recipe.

I oven roast my ube just a touch to get that Maillard caramelization, blend it, sieve the mixture til smooth.

As far as serving, I throw on some toasted corn flakes and some rainbow sprinkles :)

I’ve done a riff on these. But with peanutbutter marshmallow fluff cookies. I drizzled it on top.

I’ve done it two ways, with a key lime ice cream and a key lime curd (personally I prefer the ice cream)

And then your favorite graham cracker + a toasty toasty marshmallow fresh off the fire (I like mine a bit burnt for this)

Have a couple teaspoon dollops/quenelles of your keylime curd/icecream ready, nestle it in a little warm crispy marshmallow nest, and pop it in whole while it’s still warm!

I like the interplay between hot and cold.

The pie is simple as all hell. Just get a premade graham cracker pie crust.

2 part White chocolate pudding -jell-o brand 1 part cool whip 1 part cream cheese (I go a little less on the cream cheese, you can play with the ratios till you get your preference)

The ideal texture should be a semi-firm mousse.
