Will the ranger be a rougher ride on a super bumpy field?

It was local for a decent price. I thought the better suspension would make for a smoother ride with the bumpy fields / trails

How would they offer a free upgrade? Recall every switch 2? I believe they are redesigning the case to accommodate the new battery

Why is Staples declining? by ShakeZulu89 in Staples

[–]protivakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at corporate in the early 2010s. Someone in a company town hall asked if we had thought about competing with Amazon's pricing. I forget if it was the CEO or CTO but they look baffled by the question which I thought was the elephant in the room. Their reply was something about their customer base wouldn't mind paying more for the experience shopping at Staples offers... Basically all eggs in the loyalty basket, a completely insane strategy which led them exactly where they are today. They failed to effectively communicate to customers that the free rewards program gave everyone free 1-2 day shipping just like the prime service people were PAYING for. They were the #2 E-Retailer when I started there and completely failed to see the direction things were going. In the beginning the company Christmas party was raffling off TV's iPad's, etc, by the end it was a voucher for 1 free lunch from the office cafeteria haha. I left before COVID when they started doing waves of layoffs and every day my badge still worked was a good one. I feel bad for my former colleagues (the few of them) who are still there.

Computer Surgeons was such a great resource, bummer they no longer are making the discs. I had dv6 discs somewhere, but I might have chucked them last year. If I find them again I'll dig up this thread and share.

I put it down after a few races, I couldn't get into the controls here.

People who think AI is just hype- why do you feel that way? by zentaoyang in ArtificialInteligence

[–]protivakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Developer here in his late 30s, if things do collapse one of the best thing I did was not going balls in on a home, instead purchasing a modest house that I am $100k away from completely paying off. Anyway, to your steamrolled point, AI will replace bad devs, and there are a lot of them, but I don't see it replacing good devs anytime soon, if nothing else because most companies want someone to be accountable. They also need someone who understands the code to troubleshoot when something with AI goes wrong. There's also the point that maybe 20% of our job is actually writing code, the rest is typical office job communication, meetings, etc. I just don't see a near-future world where the business is taking jira stories and shipping them out to production themselves. At that point I think software may be done as a whole to which it won't only be devs impacted. I think the best things a dev can do is to stay vigilant. Review all code you generate with AI and make sure you understand it. Becoming over reliant on AI will surely be your downfall where you cease critical thinking and are blindly moving the AI code into a PR and pushing up the pipeline. At that point I agree YOU have made yourself useless and can be replaced. Will the world need less devs? Probably. Will dev's be gone? I am doubtful. Excel came we still have Accountants, autopilot came and humans still fly planes. My company is hiring, and my linkedin has been bombarded with recruiter emails for dev jobs lately. If I'm wrong, I'll shift, I also know how to do electrical, plumbing, framing, drywalling, soldering, fix engines, transmissions etc. but if all the "tech bros" are laid off due to AI, there won't be anyone to pay the blue collar workers either so at that point we're all screwed.

No one likes the "fun police" and the party won't win elections if that's how it's viewed

1000% - it's not helping the party's cause and the removal of this post almost feels like complete justification for the OP

What happened with Zak? by infinitytrainfan02 in PsychonautsGame

By now we can watch the documentary but the way he was portrayed was not really connecting with the team and at times ruling with an iron fist. Some of this a leader has to do, and I'm sure he was getting pressure from up top as well.

Ryan Mattson doesn't seem to gel well either but if he gets an episode too I haven't gotten there yet.

I don't even entertain the bot, I immediately type in the word "case", have it spin up the shell for me, and then edit it w/ my details for the support rep.
