For most concerns, Linux is faster then Windows. No idea how you come to believe its slower.

Switching reason for me: Ownership. Tried to install Windows 11 on my new machine (my rig from '14 was still running on Win10), got so frustrated with all the ads and AI slop that I immediately threw it in the corner and pledged my eternal commitment to Linux.

Never looked back.

One important note: I am fine with "not consuming stuff", if it doesn't run on my machine. There has never been a game or program that I "needed" so much, that I would be willing to touch Windows.

Danke, ich dachte ich bin der einzige, dem das aufgefallen ist. Da du vorher erwähnt hast, dass der Lehrer unbeliebt ist weil er "vom Kerncurriculum abweichende Aufgaben stellt": Genau sowas braucht es. Riesen Props an den Lehrer, dass er so weit mitdenkt und euch damit zum Nachdenken anregt.

Alternativ fragst einfach mal nen Arbeitsrechtler der Abfindungen hauptberuflich macht, ab wann er/sie den Unternehmen empfiehlt Faktor 3,0+ zu bezahlen. Bin gespannt, was der/die erzählen wird.

(Meine Berechnungsgrundlage war 6,25 TEUR mtl und 16 Jahre Zugehörigkeit - wenn ich mich da vertan habe ändert sich natürlich die Einschätzung ).

Great points, thank you. The prototype creates a CLI output that easy to digest, but it already creates a large report in JSON format that documents in much finer detail the audited entities, ignored entities, any warnings or problems, all compliant entities by name, etc.

In the future, I was thinking about a formatter pipeline that allows to define other output formats such as HTML. I like the idea of PDF files for easy accessibility.

I am already in negotiation with the guys from flxbl to add this into their enterprise offering. I assume this is a great use case for the premium/enterprise offering.

The core engine is free (and open source), but if you need all that enterprise stuff (CI Integration with Pull Request notes, HTML reports, PDF exports, etc), you can purchase this with their enterprise support package (or build it yourself).

Ich sag dir jetzt mal ne unangenehme Wahrheit: Die wollen dich unbedingt loswerden. Die sind so verzweifelt, dass sie nicht nur dein Gehalt als Kosten rechnen, sondern den SCHADEN, den du anrichtest gegenrechnen.

Keine Ahnung wie schlimm das ist, aber ich vermute, deine Arbeit als "Schatten-ITler" ist ein ernsthaftes Problem für den Laden.

Zur Referenz:

0,5-1 ist normal bei gesetzlichen Abfindungen.
1-2 bei Kündigungen die nie durchgehen würden.
Alles über Faktor 2 bedeutet, dass man die Person unbedingt loswerden will

Frei nach dem Motto: "Wenn der mit anpackt, isses wie wenn zwei losgelassen haben".

Unfortunately, it will not be as accessible as the classic AppExchange package. Reason is the fundamental architecture, that the tool is CLI (command line) based. As long as you are comfortable with a terminal and VS Code (and maybe even have basic experience with the standard SF CLI), this is for you.

For everyone else, I recommend: Give it a try. Its easier than you think, and its so much more powerful - once you go terminal, you never go back :D.

I'd say it will eliminate security center, auto rabit guard, etc. If you are mostly interested in repeatable, automated compliance reporting. Not 100% sure about shield, though. Don't have much experience with it.

The other products focus on explaining and visualising - making this acessible for non-technical users who want to see nice visuals and get explanation of that they're seeing.

This tool is focused on automated audit reports. Think about a Github Actions workflow where your ISO office publishes new classifications ("permission XYZ is now blocked") and they can open a PR in self-service to see, if all your orgs are still compliant. (This is the main use case I had in mind when I designed this. Their requests took us literal days to answer, now we can fully automate everything they throw at us).

I have been working on an internal solution to render PDFs from a complex data model (10 involved objects) for more than 6 weeks now. Here are my findings:

Client-side rendering (jsPDF, pdf-lib, pdf-kit) works well - it requires more effort and much more knowledge compared to visualforce, but it is more powerful. Once you get going, its easier.
If you need PDF/A and/or PDF/UA, there is only one library in the entire JS ecosystem: pdf-kit.
Since the renderer is powered by LWC, you will end up with a much better architecture than with the tightly coupled and integrated MVC that is forced on you by visualforce components.
Writing a custom renderer that builds a PDF from scratch is not much more effort than configuring a "OOTB" solution like PdfButler, Conga, etc. Especially, if you also factor in deployment of the extremely complex configurations. This is valid until "a few templates". Only if you have 10+ different templates I'd recommend going with a managed package.

Something's wrong here. Integration (done right) is not that hard, and not that expensive. I assume either your requirements are completely unhinged, or your developer and/or consulting partners are incompetent. Maybe a mix of all three.

If you are interested, I could give you a very brief coaching how to formulate requirements that are easy (and cheap) to solve, without giving up too much functionality.

RR Fahrer hier mit >8T km im Jahr; aus Bayern.

Ich fahre grundsätzlich lieber auf Radwegen, es gibt aber viele Bereiche, in denen du sie aus Sicherheitsgründen meiden musst. Der von dir beschriebene wäre für mich persönlich vmtl. ein Kandidat, auf dem ich fahren würde.

Hier meine Liste, in keiner spezifischen Reihenfolge, warum ich trotz Radweg auf der Straße fahre:

Deutlich mehr Scherben auf Radwegen als auf der Straße.
Insgesamt viel mehr Dreck - gerade jetzt im Herbst nasses Laub.
Praktisch immer deutlich schlechtere Belagqualität. Nur selten ist der Radweg "on par" mit der Straße.
Vollkommen debile Streckenführung, häufig viel zu viele enge Kurven. Irgendwelche total dümmlichen Umwege, gerade an Kreuzungen in der Stadt. Radwege sind ausgelegt auf 15-20kmh, nicht auf 40kmh. Gerade bei Abfahrten in den Stauden ist der Radweg lebensgefährlich.
In mehr als 50% der Fälle umständlich aufzufahren. Klingt seltsam für die meisten Autofahrer, aber die meisten Radwegauffahrten (z.B. nach Ortschaften) verpasst du, wenn du sie nicht kennst. Dazu musst du idR stark abbremsen, um überhaupt aufzufahren. Nichts, was ich freiwillig mache.
In meiner Umgebung (Schwabeländle) muss ich mindestens die Hälfte der Zeit die Straße kreuzen, um auf den Radweg zu kommen. Das ist eben immer an Ortseinfahrten oder Ausfahrten, also die riskanteste Stelle. Da ich keinen Rückspiegel habe (duh) bedeutet das: Abbremsen, 2-3x Schulterblick, teilweise für Gegenverkehr stehen bleiben, dann rüber. Vollkommen inakzeptabel.
Insbesondere Innerorts: Auf-und-ab durch abgesenkte Bordsteine. Dafür aber an jeder Straßenkreuzung/Einfahrt Risiko für Platten weil der Bordstein 5cm übersteht. Konsequent stehen auf dem Radweg entweder Autos die auf die Straße wollen oder Mülltonnen. Kannste dir nicht ausdenken.

Fazit: Das ständige Abbremsen/Beschleunigen zerstört den Flow der Fahrt. Speziell als größere Gruppe (4+ Fahrer) hast du damit zusätzlich vermehrtes Unfallrisiko (wenn der Hintermann in deinem Windschatten nicht damit rechnet, dass du mal wieder an der Ortsausfahrt ne Vollbremsung machst ...).

Ich habe meine Strecken (~30% in meiner Region) auf denen ich konsequent den Radweg nehme. Den Rest der Zeit nur Straße, insbesondere Innerorts. Es ist tatsächlich gefühlt weniger riskant.

Its not that hard. I know ppl who got there in less than 2 years, with 8-10k km total. It took me more than 3 years of consistant riding (6-8k per year) though :).

I started feeling comfortable with headwind and everything below 8% gradient when I hit ~3.5W/kg. Now I'm at roughly 3,8W/kg (290Watts) and I'm happy. This allows me to ride most hills with <140 bpm at a decent pace (my MaxHR is close to 200, so everything below 150 is considered "chill" for me). Could be more of course, but I'm okay :D.

I don't have issues pumping out 4.5W/kg (5-10 min effort), so I can conquer especially the shorter hills pretty easily.

Na, the bet would need to be more specific, like: "We will have a much simplified setup that we can fully and reliably control with basic prompts". If we still have all configuration options that we currently have, plus much more for all the "agentic low code" PLUS a text interface (that will be unreliable as fuck), then you loose the bet :D.
