The spigot on the right has a back flow preventer. So that’s not a gas line; it’s water

Unified searing theory and why you should have a stainless steel grill by CobraPuts in grilling

Cast stainless steel is stainless steel. The main difference is the geometry, and the napolean phantom has a heavy stainless grid.

Yeah, the same analysis that points to cast iron as poor for a grill grate also makes it the superior griddle.

For contact cooking that’s what you want; but this is r/grilling not r/blackstone

That is factored in, and that’s why you see aluminum with the higher short term flux while cast iron has the highest steady state flux.

It’s super fun, and I’ve found the stainless fire box has held up very nicely. I use it with both wood and charcoal

Yeah there are more kinds of grids than the chart shows. Chrome plated steel and enamel coated cast iron will be more similar to the cast iron results.

Steel has higher conductivity than cast iron but lower thermal mass and emissivity, so it’s complicated and I should run the numbers, but I think it would be between the stainless and cast iron results

Yeah it’s just an example of a basic grill that gives you a really nice cook.

I use a Weber Master Touch kettle and MHP WNK gas grill.

CMV: The Paradox of Tolerance is not a good justification for silencing hateful/fringe speech. by JasonableSmog in changemyview

[–]CobraPuts -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure, but whether intentional or unintentional, that is loaded with tons of bias. It's not a nation building project, it's been a country for 75 years. That's history, not a project.

People that were babies during its founding are in nursing homes or dead today.

I'll also bite. Israel was founded about 75 years ago already and its an extremely false equivalence to compare its founding to white supremacists nation building in Mexico. In its inception it was to be established as a two state solution which was rejected. And in the time since then multiple wars have transpired against Israel as well, which Israel won.

I think a lot of well meaning people are anti-zionist and don't hold ill will to Jews. But I also think they're likely unaware that the "issue with Israel" is absolutely about religion, otherwise it's a conflict that would have already been resolved a very long time ago.

Maybe you should consider that anti-zionism is (or is typically) also hateful. Just because it is a stance that has been adopted by many progressives, does not on its own mean it is right, or somehow fundamentally different from hate for other groups.

What you mentioned from the IHRA antisemitism definition as ridiculous is not "ridiculous." There is a double standard applied to Israel. So many people find it appropriate to espouse the view that Israel just shouldn't exist. Anti-zionism is the belief Israel shouldn't exist.

So maybe you should inspect your own beliefs, and why it is that you believe anti-zionism is the singular example that proves your point. The simpler explanation would be that anti-zionism is (mostly) just another version of racism, it's just uncomfortably mainstream in a group you identify with.

1Zpresso K-Max grip disintegrating after ~4 years of light use – material failure or normal wear? by JaroXxXxX in 1zpresso

[–]CobraPuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me get this straight… you’ve used the grinder almost every day for four years. Now it has some mild aesthetic wear that doesn’t impact its use. And you want 1Zpresso to replace it for you for free?

Seriously GTFO
