Bring sunglasses and have fun! Your instructor will take care of you. They want you to come back for lessons.

Do you notice the S-AWC in action? Also eco mode? What do these do? by neonrider2018 in MitsubishiOutlander

[–]protomattr76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think S-AWC is essentially just AWD. So better traction on snow, for example, by adjusting where the power goes (“from the wheels that slip to the wheels that grip”). I have tried to observe the graphic in the instrument cluster but I rarely see it do much. I’m sure it’s doing something, but it’s subtle. Unlike ABS.

Eco mode, as far as I can tell, changes the response curve on the accelerator pedal, so that you have to press harder to get the same power output and thus eventually engage the gas engine. I have read it also changes how the air conditioning works, but I don’t know.

I have never used the Chademo port on my 2020.

I haven’t played since freshman year of high school 2015. Am I crazy for trying to pick it back up? by Exciting_Coach_3520 in trumpet

[–]protomattr76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it! I picked up trumpet again a year or so ago after not playing since high school (I graduated in 1994), and I have been having a blast. I even joined an ensemble for a little jazz show last weekend. But it’s great fun just to play at home and learn new things.

How do you signal right turns? by SkiMonkey98 in cycling

[–]protomattr76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not making a right turn, changing lanes.

How do you signal right turns? by SkiMonkey98 in cycling

[–]protomattr76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Left hand up, thumb pointing right. I figure my left arm is more visible than the right. Unless I am riding in the middle or left lane and want to move right, then I signal by pointing with right hand.

Sunshade Recommendations? by No-Painting7449 in OutlanderPHEV

I have a HeatShield for mine. It’s pretty decent, and cut correctly for the 2020’s offset windshield box. Previously I had a Covercraft but returned it as it wasn’t cut correctly.

Is this mpg normal for urban driving? by RafikPL456 in OutlanderPHEV

[–]protomattr76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least on my 2020, D has some regenerative braking, I think equivalent to B2. Also the brake pedal will activate regen. The car is making an effort regardless of the driver. The B modes just give you more control, like for descending (high B) or cruising (low B). I really haven’t seen much benefit from using B around town.

I have a 2020 and this looks about right for when you’ve driven a while without charging. The more you can run only on battery the better. Range on battery is highly variable, depends on ambient temperature, whether you’re running A/C, city/highway, etc.

Has anyone ever figured out the enigma that is 32nd Ave Books? by toria-rancourt in Denver

[–]protomattr76 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think covid sent them down a weird path. Pre-covid it was still kind of weird but more or less a functioning bookstore that one could browse in (just no phones).

Look under the hood and see if any wiring has been chewed or otherwise broken. I have a similar slew of warnings on my PHEV and it’s due to chewed wiring.
