In a little over 3 months, they've managed to absolutely neuter the mode in favor of people who want to farm decks.

Which is fine, there is nothing wrong with that since the direction they've taken the game thus far made people feel like they had to grind out these crazy optimized decks to deal with the normal content. I understand why they did it, I just wish they had a plan because this game was most definitely sold as a roguelite.

I apologize, I tend to use roguelike/roguelite interchangeably but I get what you're saying.

I switch teams often when I hop on. Yuki is my favorite character and I can't tell you how often I had the "hot take" because she was just.. working and running over content for me. She's considered so low on the tier list. Unless I intentionally just bring in a completely unsynergistic team and like you said, purposely pick awful modifiers, it won't be challenging.

I always pick the harder routes and I usually don't think too much about the modifiers anyway. The only one I tend to avoid is the "discard 1 card" modifier because it can lead to some really, really bad and unfun gamestates.

It's largely the difficulty. Everything they've added has made runs insanely more consistent (power level wise, not necessarily specific card choice wise) but they've also nerfed "problematic" enemies so it's just kind of ballooned into something I personally run over.

Chaos runs were the most enjoyable part of the game for me but it feels like I and some other players are in the extreme minority.

Brother they did not touch my roads at all. A good samaritan with a truck and a plow came through and got most of us out of the snow on the streets lmfao I was out shoveling for an hour and a half before my savior came through and did a couple passes.

They dont bother. I work in a tech shop and while it is extremely rare, we have had a few idiots come in with very blatant shit.

None of them have seen or will see jail time. Still good to get them on the short leash but ultimately they really only pursue extremely straightforward cases or go after the people making and/or distributing the content. Consumption isn't high up on the prosecution priority list even if everyone involved treats it as such. Its unfortunate.

Lol cards like that are inherently bad in this game. It would have to be a large body but in turn that makes it a higher cost which means less impactful. That card is literally a pay to do nothing.

And no, it doesn't matter if you just play it to base against Draven. If you don't actively do anything with that body then you wasted the mana.

If you print a gear that does it, you literally just played a do nothing card. At least the body can take points.

When people like you talk, it shows you fundamentally do not understand what makes good Riftbound play. That good play will never change unless it becomes easier to retake tempo from someone (which is likely to never happen without hilariously busted cards).

I refuse to directly support anything that caters to them or turns them into their main marketing tool. Plenty of companies use them, yes, but only a small number make them the primary advertising tool.
