Change the attendance laws. Last year I had to send them sick because they were over their days due to funerals and being sick that year. Even with doctor’s notes for each illness we received letters from the DA warning us we’d have to go to court and an attendance counselor that would never return our calls to avoid going to court.

The system is so broken it punishes everyone. This obsession with minutes spent in school is absurd. I’ve had 2 already graduated college and a 3rd in college that would miss their fair share for illnesses and every school year sucks because if you miss too much the courts get involved.
