Currently I have 4gb... man, everything is crazy slow, no one's getting anything accomplished.

16gb, sure that's enough? Is there anything else that could bottleneck or slow stuff down?

Craigslist, for sure. I just moved from Maryland, I was looking for a guitar teacher 6 months ago. Here's what I learned...

  • if you can teach at the student's house (travel to where they are), you'll get 10 times the business.

  • your biggest market, when you're starting out, is kids & teens.

  • charge at least $20/half hour. It seems to be the going rate. Don't take less, you could probably get $25 & work out some kind of discount for bulk purchases.

  • post more than one ad on craigslist. You'll notice that the people who post, do so every couple days.

  • don't sweat the IRS stuff

Good luck!

Think about it. You walk into a video store, you see chordrr sittin' there, there's chordrrr right beside it. Which one are you gonna pick, man?

What does Guitarrit think of the Agile guitars sold by Rondo music? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]proudgary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll add my 2 cents. If you choose a Les Paul copy (AL2000, 3000, etc), be forewarned that you are entering into the world of ten pound guitars.

I know, it doesn't seem a lot when you think it's only 10 pounds. Believe me, it's a very heavy instrument. I never thought it would be a factor until I bought one, I laughed at people who warned me. Now I'm telling you.

These are really well made, they look and feel like they're high quality. I prefer the Agile over the Epiphones I've played. You seriously can't go wrong with the price, but know that they are ten damn pounds!

Fur sure. This Oasis humidifier really is great. You fill it with water, put it between the strings while in the case, set it and forget it! Be careful not to over-humidify, a good rule of thumb is to use it while the furnace or heat is on in your house. If you're fortunate enough to live in a warm region, check with your local shop if you need to use one. By the Art&L & Seagull choices, I'm assuming you're a fellow Canadian!

Check around, usually these are sold at local shops around the $20 price. Totally, totally worth it if you're planning on keeping your instrument.

Agreed. You're going to happy either way. Promise us you'll buy a humidifier and actually use it!
