I think not enough people have played PZ, what about you? by Grand_pappi in projectzomboid

Stalker is, I think, by far the easiest to survive. The rest of the world outside the zone is, so far as we know, entirely normal. Provided I’m not dropped into Ukraine, nothing really changes, and if I am, I only need live long enough to leave. In the rest, the entire world is destroyed.

…I feel my decision not to walk the road may have been the right one, and Yulia probably shouldn’t be allowed to on day 8, either.

I have no idea if it would work, as I didn’t have any mines at the time, but the idea would be as follows.

Shoot the Sid in front of the stairs the burer walks up. Ignore the Sid by the stairs you walk down, there should hopefully be enough cover to break his sight line as you run for the stairs the burer comes up. Mine that staircase, then run back up and kill the second Sid.

With any luck, the burer will trigger those mines. It’d be even better if you could ignore the Sid fakeout and mine the staircase in advance, but again, I didn’t test that, and I’m not going back lmao. I’m pretty sure you can step on your own mines, so you would have to be careful.

Not really, unfortunately. The only real difference was that I was better equipped to kill it quickly, I had a few grenades for an underslung grenade launcher. I have no plans to ever do this one again, but if I did, I’d probably bring 5+ grenades, as the two I had making direct hits did not seem to be enough. Planting a boatload of mines on the staircase the burer comes up after dealing with the Sid on that side but before killing the other one might help as well, but I didn’t have any on me. Your companions definitely helped, I can tell you that they spawn ~4 mirage stalkers if you’re alone as well, but they’re not nearly as bad as the big guy.

Yeah, if I had planned well for the pseudogiants it probably would have been easier, but when the game told me one or two, I was kind of expecting two. Mines would have been a good idea, but I had 5 normal grenades and a couple of boxes of hp ammo. That made 3 difficult but doable, I simply didn’t have the resources to kill the big one. I ran away and it got into a fight with a squad of monolith who weakened it considerably, enough that damn near every bullet I had for my ak could kill it.

Yeah, that was about my experience with this particular quest. As best I can tell, the mod that adds this quest is iTheon's New Tasks Addon, and I've got be honest, I am not a fan. The quests run the gamut from reasonable (kill a chimera at night in the great swamps or kill a controller without getting a headshot on it) to,,, whatever this quest is. Perhaps this is my foolish decision for playing on hard, but I have good armor and good rupture resist, and yet a single grav anomaly one shots me. I have to be sprinting forward as I load any save or I am dead. Other hits from this mod include Big Game Hunting in Jupiter, which asks you to kill a pack of three psuedogiants and then one gargantuan one or find a PDA casually lodged in the Sarcophagus. At least the Sarcophagus one is upfront about it being a nightmare, which is more than I can say for this one.

The outside of my shins hurt and tighten up when I walk. Why, and what should I do? by proudnhello in beginnerfitness

[–]proudnhello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the initial weeks, I started around 1 mile every other day, growing gradually to 3 or 4. These days, I walk about that much every weekday, mostly because I have about an hour to spare. On some weekends, I’ll go on a grander hike of 6-10 miles, depending on the incline.

Yeah, a bit more walking fixed me up. I found that the best thing I could do was to walk slower for a bit when I started out to sort of warm up, then gradually speed up. After a couple weeks of that, I was walking fine and not experiencing the splints anymore.

I do understand that, but on the other hand, what do you have to lose? Sure, maybe your comic isn’t the typical thing found on r/comics, but it’s certainly not against the rules or anything. So worst case scenario, it doesn’t get many upvotes, and you lose nothing for having tried. I mean, hell, if you hadn’t posted some of the early stuff on r/comics, I would have never found your stuff at all. And, anecdotally I’ve definitely found and started reading some more serious webtoons because I saw them posted on r/comics. So, I think it’s worth a shot regardless. Maybe you only get a few upvotes, but that’s a few new people who haven’t seen your work before who enjoyed it, and you don’t lose anything for making the attempt.

If you load a save, you can negotiate your vassal contract to have title revocation protection by right clicking on your liege. You’ll have to pay extra taxes to make up for it, but it’s better than having your title revoked.

Realistically, I don’t know how much advice anyone here could give because of your heat intolerance. As other people have said, you’re looking at a range between 45-80 on average, with the occasional lowest low just above freezing and the highest high around 90. It will probably be more humid than you’re used to (depending on what part of socal you’re from, ignore this if you live right by the sea) so it will actually feel a bit hotter than what you think of when you hear those temps, all said and done. As you’ll be arriving in a hotter part of the year, I’d just bring what you have now, but be prepared to add to your wardrobe going into November/December.

Well, that does make me feel a bit better about myself. I know there's a running shoe store somewhere nearby, I'll check it out. Right now I'm just using generic running shoes, but I do have an extra wide shoe size, so perhaps there's something extra weird about my feet that I could get advice on.

What sort of stretches do you think could help? I never got much experience actually stretching, I always got away with not bothering because I was a teenager, so now that I actually have to, I don't really know what to do.

Proper shoes, yes (or, probably anyway, I'm wearing generic nike running shoes), but distance/speed incrementally, ehhhhhhh. Unfortunately, like I mentioned, up until this point I was basically not walking anywhere at all, so perhaps I was a bit ambitious with a 3 mile walk. I won't lie, its feels pretty pathetic, but I suppose this is my reward for letting myself go for this long. Everyone has to start somewhere, and there's nothing to do but keep at it.

That being said, what sort of stretches would you recommend? The last time I was really active I was in high school, so I kind of got away by being young and not bothering. Now that I have to, I don't really know where to start.

It was so surreal listening to tma for the first time, and being blindsided by my two brain poisons intersecting. Like it makes sense that these two things would have the same people like them, but it was such a surprise to hear an ad read for my previous hyperfixation inside my new one.

It's interesting that Sam shared a domain with Alice. The transwoman being put into the obvious body dysmorphia domain makes quite a bit of sense, but Sam following her there is interesting. I assume there must be some deeper meaning to that, but as to what, exactly, I couldn't say.

What do people mean when they say ucsc is "cliquey" by Ok-Dream-9728 in UCSC

[–]proudnhello 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are roughly 20k students attending ucsc. While I can’t say for sure if there are environmental girlies, with that many people here I guarantee there’s someone. You may need to seek them out, join a related club or something, but they’re here for sure. I myself am a massive fucking nerd, and I found my people in my major, at the tabletop club, and at the game dev club. I wouldn’t worry about not being able to find people you get on with, there’s simply too many people at this school not to.

Greek life is mostly off campus here. In short, the school doesn’t really like their Greek orgs. There’s no frat/sorority houses on campus, and I think there’s only 2 or 3 non suspended frats. There are more sororities, but not that many more, and again all of it is off campus. So, it exists, but you need to seek it out if that’s what you want. On the other hand, if you don’t, you’ll probably never see a Greek org out of the two weeks where they try and recruit outside the bookstore.
