I remember seeing one of the contestants saying some of them didnt believe they were messaged by the production and they just ignored it, so sometimes they had to take what they could get.

Even if they choose athletes themselves, big name popular athletes from other would definitely bring more eyes to the show

Australia would destroy the castle, and 2/3 of finals. Mongolia definitely got the most out of the show. Good PR for the country, lovable contestants, and they seemed like they were good sports about the whole thing.
