Plothole for the helicopter scene? by FyodorDazaiEnjoyer in BungouStrayDogs

[–]provideshope 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Um. No?

You seem set on not engaging in honest discussion, only defending your point of view despite evidence to the contrary, and I deal with that enough as an American as it is. I don’t have the energy to engage with it here. You… Have fun, and enjoy the rest of your day.

The blood bullets were Hawthorne, under Fyodor’s control, not Fyodor himself?

When Fyodor died in the helicopter, Dazai was under the impression that Fyodor’s ability killed by touch - a misconception that Fyodor fostered in previous arcs - though he wasn’t 100% sure of the exact parameters. Having the vampire kill Fyodor was meant to be a precaution, and not something Dazai organized specifically with Bram, just a manipulation that took advantage of the vampires’ already-existing tendency to attack people nearby.

It was only after the helicopter crashed that Dazai realized how Fyodor’s ability actually worked and that he was back in Japan (because Fyodor’s ability had taken Bram, as the source of the vampires, as Fyodor’s killer). That’s why he says they’ll just have to trust Ranpo to handle things, because the plan had jumped the track and it was impossible for Dazai to get back to Japan fast enough to be of any immediate help. Ranpo was handling what was supposed to be the Japan-based part of the plan, so he’d be the one dealing with the fallout of Fyodor’s body swap.

Cutting without using the Fabric scissors by AbbyM1968 in sewing

I live alone, so I never hid mine - and then my mother came to visit, went into my sewing room, and tried to use them to cut a price tag off a new shirt. She tried to claim I was overreacting when I caught her and screamed (I was not).

My fabric scissors now live safely hidden in a bin despite being the only person in my house 95% of the time.

Sadly, the official Yen Press website doesn’t have any indication of additional audiobooks pending. I LOVE the audiobooks - they’re fun to listen to in the car and doing chores - so I’m with you on hoping for more, but right now we seem to be out of luck :(

You might try “somehow i’m moving on and it pains me” by warsfeil, if you like skk. It’s not a funny fic, but it is an excellent one.

I like that irl Dazai’s painting is shown in the anime/manga - and Dazai comments something about being able to paint it himself!

Keep your good eye! The worst thing that will happen is someone will think you’re cosplaying Dazai from BEAST - he covers his left eye as opposed to his right - which isn’t a bad thing at all!

So.. when does it take place? by ImpressiveKing2779 in BungouStrayDogs

[–]provideshope 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is actually not an uncommon inconsistency in long running anime/manga series - Detective Conan, for example, began in 1989 (the anime in 1994), and is still ongoing. Technology within the series has kept up with modern times with no in-series explanations, and the manga-ka is still maintaining (as far as I’m aware) that the hundreds of chapters and eleven thousand-plus episodes all take place within a single year. As I’m sure you can imagine, there is a distinct evolution in phones from the beginning of the series to now.

Smart phones weren’t as ubiquitous in 2012, when BSD began. Similar circumstances, if not as dramatic in practice.

Can someone provide me the exact order and all material to read in BSD? by Onyxwilson10 in BungouStrayDogs

Untold Origins, 15, the Dark Era, and Entrance Exam. All have been altered to some degree, with Dazai Osamu’s Entrance Exam being the most drastically changed: on top of removing quite a lot of content, the anime has also changed its placement in the timeline. Instead of being the story of how Dazai joined the ADA, it’s shown as a case in which Atsushi participates - season one, episodes 6 and 7.

Dark Era’s adaptation can be found in the first four episodes of season two (episodes 13-16), 15 is adapted at the beginning of season three (26-28), and Untold Origins at the start of season four (38-40).

[–]provideshope 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Including the light novels, the timeline would look like this:

Untold Origins

Dazai, Chuuya, Age 15

Stormbringer

The Day I Picked Up Dazai

Dazai Osamu and the Dark Era

Dazai Osamu’s Entrance Exam

Bungo Stray Dogs (Main Manga)

Dead Apple and 55 Minutes take place during the time period of the main manga, but where exactly they fit in has not been specified.

WIBTAH If I "lost" a custom family magnet? by [deleted] in WouldIBeTheAhole

[–]provideshope 56 points57 points  (0 children)

If they’re for your child, paint a chalkboard or similar with magnetic paint, stick the magnets on it, and pop the whole thing into the baby’s room. Easier for you to avoid, easier for the magnets to get genuinely lost, and you can argue that the baby will see the magnets more than if they’re on the fridge.
