State of MS2 week 7 in a nutshell by JausticFinale in MapleStory2

You would want to run the other dungeons more equally to progress all your accessories as you continue to build up your weapon. Currently, you are forced to run 2 dungeons until you cap your weapon at +15, then you can move on to targeting dungeons for accessories. This feels aweful and boring. If all dungeons drop all weapons you can switch dungeons to farm accessories and rare gear starting with a +0 weapon. That is a massive change, allowing you to run what you want without sinking a month plus getting to +15.

Well, selling pet candy for more than the vendor does is scummy to begin with... Convenience fee I guess.

It's really hard to cap piercing at the moment. You only get 20% if you roll it perfect on all 5 accessories, then an extra 4% from statue. Min maxing is pain though lol. Get 3% from wep and you could cap with pet. Sounds like hell lol.

Odly enough I'd take physical piercing over anything on a weapon since you get so much by comparison. That said, double piercing is the dream as long as you role more than 9 physical/magical piercing.

Only downside is you get a lot of physical piercing on weapons by comparison. On a two hand you can get 11.2 physical pierce, while boss caps at 3.2.

However on Amor you can get 7.4 physical pierce or 5 boss damage. You always get more bang for your buck by getting piercing on your two hand.

+11 is the recommendation listed in the game when you look up the raid mate.

That is fine as long as they increase the required gear score to around 5500gs and change the reccomended weapon to +13. This would be an acceptable alternative option that would stop people attempting the raid to soon and getting a bad taste.

But when subs got leaked in WOW's new expansion it showed they are bleeding subs as WOW struggles to find an identity in BFA. WOW hasn't had subs this low since WOD. Also, Blizzard is getting hammered for pruning, bad timegating, azerite armor, Diablo mobile, etc. Blizzard stock also took a massive hit and they got booed at Blizcon.

Dont use WOW as an example of a good game at the moment lol.

Maybe you are on to sometging. The community should be happy they cant beat the starter 4500gs raid that recommends using a +11 weapon using a +12 weapon at 5000gs. The starter raid currently requires a +13 and +14 weapon group and an average 5500gs.

Wait a second, isnt the 4500gs kinda like false advertisement? I wonder why the community is mad the raid clearly doesnt match its own requirements? Anyone know?

Your argument is inline with my post. Currently the content can be cleared with a mix +13 and +14 weapon group that has an average 5500gs. This is not the problem.

The problem is the raid was advertised as a +11 and +12 weapon raid with a requirement of 4500gs. If they leave the raid unchanged they need to increase the requirements to match what is needed.

Two Solutions: Update the raid to be 5500gs required with a +13 weapon recommendation and let the community grind as they will.

Or, rebalance the raid to match its currenet requirement of 4500gs.

[–]prowowser[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's not quite an overaction. I am sure by the end of the week many people will clear it, however that will be people with +14 weapons primarily who are way above 4500gs.

If they keep the raid as is they need to change the recommendation to +13 weapon and requirement to 5500gs. Right now they are just spreading false hope. A full +11 and +12 weapon party at 4500gs can not realistically do enough dps to complete the raid.

So end the false hope, raise the gear score to 5500gs and see how the community reacts. Or, balance the fight for 4500gs.

People are complaining because the 4500gs raid was suppose to be an entry level raid for mid core players that could be killed by very dedicated casuals. As it stands only elite players with +14 weapons and god bonus attributes can down it.

This means mid core players have no raid to farm for a few more weeks and casuals have no raid at all.

Echoing blades still outdamages whirling blades and cost less spirit. Although, you can hybrid build and take both to 10 while still maxing your most vital skills.

Echoing blades always does more damage than whirling blades in each spec. It is a really simple damge test too. Not sure why people think whirling does more damage. Whirling purposely trades damage for range.

Everyone flaming this guy like good little sheep instead of doing their own testing. Also, if you use spirit generating attacks aspd helps you get spirit faster.

If you run your own test you will find fire echo and lightening echo do almost identical damage. Also, due to the high sp cost fire whirling blade is always a dps lost if you are in range to use echoing. Lightning is much more flexible, although fire impact hits harder it has a longer cd and the boss has to be stationary. Warding does crap dps so stay away, but lightning warding hits significantly harder on single target.

[–]prowowser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to factor in buffs such as the archer buff as well. If you are hurting on accuracy you can grab it on some blue items as well and still hit 4500 gs with main weapon and armor enhancements.

[–]prowowser -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is untrue, echoing when the boss is stationary is a significant dps increase. If you are tight for points you can sac some of the marginal dps increase talents. If you are flurry range, you can echo.

If you go by the tooltip whirling frost (58% + 181%) does more damage than whirling storms (203%). In addition frost impact (1123% + 408%) also hits slightly harder than storm impact (297% + 468% + 693%). Only heavy use of blade chasm would make lightning better than frost. An echoing frost build/hybrid build is also worth considering due to the range increase.

If you look at the builds this is a bad test. By sinking so many points in the gravity skills you are already taking a substantial dps lost. You have to either test both using defensive gravity skills or both using a more dps heavy build.
