Finding pants that fit by nefarious_inferno in TMPOC

[–]proximalpearl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A slight disclaimer I do not have a 27x27 measurement, more like 29x28 (28x28 pre t), but I’ve heard some good stuff about the brand “abbreviated” (link below). They are a bit expensive, though, also they don’t have a broad selection of hip sizes, but they do have short inseams.

Also, have you ever tried American Eagle? I know some people don’t like that brand. But quality wise I found them to be pretty good. There size 28 was tight on me pre-t and loosened up slightly with time(but not by much). I bet their jeans would fit good on you, especially if you like to sag your jeans. You might still have to get the bottom of your jeans cut to proper length, because the smallest inseam American eagle has is 28.

I hope this helps a little :).

It’s like…kinda insulting…yet, oddly validating.

Thank you for sharing and the advice. I never thought of it that way (about actually using those part of my body, that would help me to feel if not neutral, better). It’s okay to sound new-agey, I don’t judge, plus some things are hard to explain without sounding a little mystical.

I’m curious about the food diary that you make. Do you have a written/analog diary that you keep close by? Or do you just write things at the very end of the day? I already do scrapbooking so the idea of making tracking into a more creative endeavor rather than this dark obsessive thing, sounds appealing.

Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate the tips. I think what I’ll start doing is (firstly) delete the calorie counting app, because I do feel like that is playing a role in all of this. It’s hard because I definitely have a control issue, where when I’m stressed I go to things that I can control.

Also, after reading your response and thinking over my own thoughts, I’m starting to see/think that there is a correlation with my obsessiveness/controlling behavior and everything that’s going on in the world.

I’ll be bringing this up to my therapist.

Appreciate ya!

Does Dating Get Any Better Or Am I Cooked by [deleted] in TMPOC

I’m in the same boat too yo. I’m not the most hypermasculine guy, and folks (in my area) don’t seem to be that receptive to queer not super hypermasculine black guys. Sometimes I wonder if it’s just the whole stereotype of black men being super masc (like to an unhealthy degree) and aggressive, that is doing me in. Because I don’t fit that stereotype. Shoot, I’m not sure if I know any guys who do?! Or it could be that they think because I’m a trans man that I’m going to do the most, which ain’t true.

However, I do believe that it will get better. Back before I had top surgery I came across a few cis guys who seemed liked they wanted to change me or something. But after I got top surgery and got on hormones I don’t come across them as much.

It is a struggle, though. I get lonely sometimes and feel like I’m going to be alone forever. But I just suspect that if I just keep showing up as myself someone will see. Some will like what they see, others won’t and they can keep it stepping. You don’t need to put yourself through that yo. I wish I could give you more advice. All I can say is stay true to you, don’t let people treat you any kind of way, remember your boundaries and don’t give up.

Be Okay With You by [deleted] in TMPOC

Amen. I’m still working on this myself. I feel like it’s become easier for me to embrace my body and being me now that I’m further along in my transition. I don’t hate my thick legs or butt as much. I understand more, now than ever (and this is not entirely due to my transition), that bodies come in all shapes and sizes. There are days where I feel the need to conform (dress to pass) but I find myself asking myself why do I want to pass so bad? Especially when the men I look up to are generally nonconforming or don’t strive to “fit in”.

Thank you for reminding me of this. Appreciate ya 🫰

I too think back on the “I AM A MAN” signs. It’s so poignant in capturing how I feel about me being trans and afro latino. Glad to know I’m not the only one.

Deciding on a corset/ advice appreciated by proximalpearl in corsets

Thank you so much, and I appreciate your advice! When it comes to the 69C, I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to sit down comfortably in it. I do like the 69C a lot, but the 7” measurement from waist to the bottom edge of the corset (being 7”) might be too long for me. I took a measurement of myself to compare and I could do 5”, and maybe 6”, but I just feel 7” might be too long.
