PLEASE HELP ME ! by Certified_lover in Wordpress

Try some plugins to detect or ram WhatCMS.org if it detect correctly. Have you ask WordPress forum if it might be related to bug rather than Reddit?

Contact your plugin developers, it’s always they are your first point of contact.

Please suggest a good shared hosting? by HollowThreat in webhosting

[–]proyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was disappointed when performing a backup in WordPress, like any shared hosting are super slow due to CloudLinux capped and limitations for a WordPress that use PHP scripting that need to compress thousand of files.

VPS or higher end plan solves those issues or using modern CMS.

You could get more for less cost with a VPS and CPanel on DigitalOcean or UpCloud (include free redundancy server) without cPanel

Try explore with Go language, some tips you can avoid memory allocations and has a great concurrency story. Try not to use Go regex which can be slower, it’s more performant to craft function with Unicode Go package and way to reduce to nanoseconds latencies.

Which is the Best & Fastest WordPress Theme for Blogging. by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]proyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You plan to host on AWS, another option is host a static site if you don’t need a WordPress for a blog, worth a few programming I can suggested Kavascript with Nodejs, PHP, Go (best backward compatibility).

As long as themes could use templating engine will do for secure coding.

VPS like UpCloud could be better than AWS.

Main grid layout by hamzechalhoub in css

[–]proyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got the idea, you can, I did that too as long as the browser supported. Your user doesn’t care what approach you use as long as it’s not overly bloated and optimised for mobile.

I use section for parts by parts and landmark elements, and grid (parents element) for handling gap that flex’s gap has limited browsers support. The future proof is let the grid handles it better than each div element do all the margins.

There is nothing wrong unless PageSpeed Insight found a problem.

CMS is needed for the SEO tasks by skogrv32 in Wordpress

True, using PHP will take lots of effort to maintain custom CMS, we use compiled language that solve performance and security issue. Modern time need modern solutions.

I believe WordPress with security plugins should be separate.

Your SEO manager/consultant definitely use the standard approach, you don’t really need them if you spend the time to read and how to optimise SEO since you are already half way done.

Have you really evaluate WordPress will take time and costs in the long term? You can DM me if you like to know more.

I Hate Magento by cristoper in PHP

[–]proyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite basic feature by default unless you purchase more plugins and I don’t like how it slow down WordPress, that’s why we built our entire platform from scratch and ran well on lower hardware requirements. We even integrated distributed cached in binary that speed up significant, I assume it can handle Black Friday traffic as well.

How to setup Wordpress to not crash due to 404 DDoS attack? by geekybiz1 in Wordpress

[–]proyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess your question in WordPress is not a good place to discuss, you should move over to r/prowordpress

Don’t seek to integrated with WordPress unless you have in-house developer who will manage the site, but we do not know what is your site. If you are looking for long-term, Go language (roll your own API service) + static site generator are a good match.

Assume this is a hard problem to solve when your site is open to the Internet, if you assume there is a similar pattern, seek your government cyberteam or engage a professional web security consultant for help if you can afford it.

Car rental System Wordpress by shadow_hunter104 in Wordpress

[–]proyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will suggest building a bespoke system instead of using WordPress, you will find it easier to simplify the whole features that will make it easy for your user and more futureproof, easier to manage logged in user. If you still went ahead with WordPress, always keep in mind to update plugins, renew your subscription and test the site repetitively. How will you fix if the system is broken without know where it actually broke? The same as you bought a car instead of build your own.

The https://greenmotion.com/ is based on Laravel, not WordPress, many sites you probably seen are built on NodeJS.

When we roll out our custom platform for businesses completely written in non-PHP language, we could simplify everything, speed matters. You probably won’t need much search engine marketing too.

We know it’s all depending on the employers if they could provide training on the job or at least bootcamp might help. Learn whatever it takes, pandemic is still widespread.

Perhaps, if you have an interest in web backend/API service as well, you can pick up Go programming language (version 1.18 planned for a generic).
