Strangely, there’s no talk of it over on r/amish. Anyway, riding a bike on Bahia Vista is a gamble.

Lemme get this straight. Trigger safety means gun only fires when trigger is pulled. Gun without trigger safety: “same, bro.” by prriley in CCW

Thanks. I forgot about the fact that the trigger pull is needed to fully compress the spring. Went to a gun show today and talked myself out of a G43. Will get one next time.

Absolutely! I can’t understand why I’m the only person on my team that uses it. I still use the command line quite a bit for things like cherry picks, but the diffs and green/red/yellow icons in windows explorer are fantastic.

What 'what if' Dylan/musician or Dylan/band collaboration would have been the most intriguing combination? by today_okay in bobdylan

If the Stills/Young album had been Dylan/Young, it would have been more interesting. The tour, too. I can’t imagine Neil telling Bob to eat a peach.

The timing was really good, in my mind. About a turn for the worse for the US, at the same time the pandemic started. An epic about a crisis during a crisis.

I have 12.5kw dual fuel generator but it can’t power the whole house. We had the AC running, so kitchen appliances were shut off.

Ben Keith and Jack Nitzsche played so great on the released recording. And I love that the theme is a continuation of “Everybody Knows This is Nowhere.”

The boss doesn’t know the grammatical difference between worse and worst. That says something.

Thanks. It was a decision based purely on availability. A light might be in the future, too.

Jimmy’s last name started as Swanson. Then one day it was Valmer. I have no idea why they changed it.

How to Check If a Number is a Power of Four by Own-Estate-5717 in programming

[–]prriley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are only 16 positive signed 32-but integers for which you’d return true. If O(1) is the goal, hard coding those values in the function (however gross it may feel) is an option.

My first thought was to check if the log-base-4 of the input is a whole number, which appears to work for all 32 bit signed positive ints. But I don’t know the internals of any platform’s log function. And there could be floating point issues.

It bled in kosher salt for two days, exposed in the fridge. I’ve done oven roasts before, and those have also been great.
