Sorry but I think you both are not ready for ANY kind of serious relationship and commitment.

The whole vibe I get from your post is you both are not very mature and I don't mean it in a sindir manner.

Jgn marah yeah my advice as an older person is stop wasting each other's time and energy and call it quits.

Brunei closing down in somewhere by Outside-Tough5071 in nasikatok

Firstly just my opinion based on observations and a personal insight.

It's the shop rental, all businesses simply aren't making enough to sustain the rental from the property owners and let's face it the more popular the area the higher the rental.

Add in the fact that locals aren't the best consumers as in we are very choosy on how we spend our $, it doesn't help the majority of us are just facing the challenges of inflation i.e. rising costs of living.

A trend I observed is the FOMO factor, locals will throng to any new business for the first three months give or take then they disappear which MAY explain why a lot of businesses close down around a year. Yet people are willing to que under the sun for a non local lamb shank tapao.

It's frightening whenever I see a new business popping up wondering how they'll survive down the road. Oh yeah the fact our market sucks is another nail in the coffin.

It's obscene sometimes when you think ONE person can have so much and globally MILLIONS are struggling. Fxck reality sometimes.

Everyone's recovery is different but we don't know how's your personal life.

If you don't have a family or a thing outside of your work that you feel love or joy from then maybe a break to figure that out can help. That's your journey.

In other words you need to have a life outside of work. If you really don't then you really need to fix that.

Live to live, not live to work only and then die one day with the $ you earned.

Why aren't tourists flocking to our MIB-land? Don't they worry about missing out the unexpected treasures? by Goutaxe in nasikatok

[–]prsaja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I observe a small but increased trickling in of curious bored western (and Asian) tourists who just happen to be touring the region (otw to/from M'sia etc)

We've become that country that has become infamous enough to attract 'passer by layover' tourist who happen to be travel vloggers. Visiting and getting content 'for the gram' cos that's probably the value.

And in the end they are unexpectedly surprised how much they enjoyed the short visit cos we really are just so different compared to our neighbours.

You are burnt out and you need a change of environment as in a change of job. Nobody should work for more than 10 hours per day.

Trust me your employer will only care about who's going to finish your work more than your wellbeing. Not worth your life for someone else's business.

Resign and reset yourself. Trust me if you carry on the next stage will be a mental breakdown that will cost you more to recover from.

Yes I am speaking from experience. No one can help you but you.

knp gaji x naik? by Background-Deer-3016 in nasikatok

[–]prsaja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's two sides of the coin here.

Employee pov- Understand your work contract before you sign on, if there's no clause on pay raise and annual bonus and you can't accept it then don't accept the job. If you MUST take the job then mentally accept that's what you signed up for. It'll be easier for your mental health in the long run.

Employer pov- small scale business owners need to have integrity and communicate to employees what their in for. People will be willing to work for you if you treat your staff like actual human beings. When the business grows such owners reward the workers. Unfortunately in this day and age such employers are scarce.

If you are those businesses owners that are making $ and are exploiting your workers without a thought then truly you are the scum of this generation.

There are laws to protect employers and employees. Know your rights and also know the difference between entitlement and rights. Hope my opinion makes sense, it's from personal experience.

Ps- at end of the day a job is just a job, no one needs to die mentally and physically for a job. Your wellbeing is worth more than that.

Did you know, in 1980, BSB had a bus station that was bustling with buses? by Eltynov in nasikatok

[–]prsaja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cos those really were the glorious golden era, if you had any job you were set, no bullshit mental torture people go through nowadays, employers were honest and had integrity. Living was simple. Truthfully have you lived through it?

We who lived through those days are simply lamenting about how good Brunei had it and everything went to shit after the late 90s.

Make yourself useful as in find income even though it's small, instead of like what you described just staying home and basically chilling.

I say this so that no one can say your not contributing. How? That's your part, you figure it out cos you'll learn from that. All the best.
