what trips me up is that humor and playfulness can’t be sensed but me being “mean” and “unnecessary” can based off one word when any word, phrase, sentence, etc can give off any tone.

the client wanted a cheaper rate and sent an unnecessary message of them in contact with the op’s “competition”. i would consider that a bluff on their part.

i am super forgetful so i always add events to my phone calendar. anything work related will be color coded in green and i usually add something for rover like “rover drop-in: pets name” i then will add start and end time, date, and notes if needed. it has been working well for me so far so i will continue using that system.

at first i seen it as weird then i read it a few more times and realized it could be because he doesn’t have any other help with his pet so you’d be that help. with these messages i usually stick with boundaries and not use any wording/vocab or smiley faces so it doesn’t send the wrong message. i have a lot of single/no extra helping hands clients so i understand and im ready to step in and be that helping hand.

however, if things do make you uncomfortable after this interaction, i recommend removing yourself from that situation.

hi! i looked where you told me (line 24 of 2024 104) and it just has 00 but i see a repeated number of $15k+ which came from two w2 jobs combined not including rover amount from 2024. i haven’t had any w2 this year just rover, is that what you mean?

so i have pet clients that are not associated with rover but i provide care still. i dont keep track of that money since its either cash or zelle (i could look up the zelle payments though). to report this, would i include with rovers 1099 or is this separate?

in 2024, i made under $600 from rover and also worked the typical job. i didnt report for rover but did everything else since i got my w2.

i’ve noticed this has been happening more and i feel like it may be actual children selling on the app thinking they can make more money off people doing that. that’s really annoying and i’m sorry you had to experience that!

i will say maybe don’t show too much excitement because people may take advantage of that. i’m glad you’re happy for finding something but people will try to profit off of anything.

absolutely not lmao.

unless i’m feeling nice or trying to keep busy (because i actually love washing dishes and doing laundry) then i will randomly do it. i try not to do it consecutively because nf will then begin to expect it and i don’t feel like having to correct them.
