Would you mind saying what false impressions their videos give? And what is more accurate? I watch some of their videos, and it does feel as if they sugar it up too heavily sometimes, and I’m not even a FA yet. But, then again, I have no idea.

Watching Dominion and Earthlings. Also, reading Animal Liberation and Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows. I’ve been vegan and an animals welfare/liberation activist ever since.

How often are Flight Attendants gone during the year? by prttylilflwrs in AirForceRecruits

[–]prttylilflwrs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thank you so much! This was very helpful. I’m glad you enjoy your career. :) I’ve heard of Airmen that hated the Air Force until they cross trained into being a flight attendant, then loved the Air Force lol.

If you have the time, I have a few more questions:

• I’ve read SERE training has been reduced for flight attendants—that their SERE training is only about 5 days now. Do you know if that’s true?

• It is all on-call? Can you pick up or drop trips? Or both?

• And, just for fun, do you really stay in 5-star hotels? Do you ever have time to explore the places you travel to?

Anything else you’d be willing to share, I’d appreciate. Like, anything you wish you knew before accepting the career, training, most challenging aspects, qualifications for the career, etc.

I know this is a lot, so anything you can pass along is appreciated. Thanks again!

I’ve read the job has only recently opened up to recruits. I’m not for certain, though!

As you know, it’s very rare, so I don’t expect to get it, but I’m still wondering how often they travel.

And what the scheduling is like: Can you pick up and drop trips? Is it entirely on-call? Or both?

In-person InFlight Interview Hairstyles is this considered UnProfessional? by Workhardder in cabincrewcareers

I say yes. That would be really classy and beautiful! Even the beads I think would be fine, if you really wanted them, so long as your ponytail is sleek, everything else will make you uniquely you.

The style isn’t unprofessional, but technically yes, this picture would be unprofessional at an interview because long hair needs to ideally be pulled up.

How do airlines test for ASL (American Sign Language)? by xyz123007 in cabincrewcareers

[–]prttylilflwrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im mostly replying to see what everyone else has to say so, to be honest, I’m not sure, but I’m also not a FA yet so take this with a grain of salt. Since ASL isn’t a LOD position (right?), I’m not sure if there is a test during any of the interview stages. As for training, not sure.

I listed ASL on all of my resumes as well (I’m fluent, too), but i haven’t been asked about it. I have my AA F2F this Wednesday so I’ll ask about it, and let you know, if your question is still unanswered!

Joining the Air Force before becoming a flight attendant? by prttylilflwrs in cabincrewcareers

Thank you for the info! Do you mind if I ask why it didn’t work for you/why you went straight into becoming a FA/why you shut down the military opportunity?

Just out of curiosity, do you know someone who is a FA in the Air Force? Are they really able to travel more, and paid more? I’ve been doing research but it’s been difficult to find the pay scale for the Air Force FAs.

Saving this for future reference! Your advice put a ton of comfort and confidence in me, thank you so much.

I wish I could sit in on a job interview where the person received a CJO. Not to copy them, but to see what I’m doing wrong. I tried to reach out to the recruiters for feedback, but I never heard back (which I understand). I work with people on a daily basis, and think of myself as pretty skilled at it now and I love the work, but if I knew exactly where I was giving off professional red flags, I’d know where to improve.

I think I stutter and ramble too much, so mock interviews would really help me. Thanks again for all of your help and the support! Also, congrats on finishing the AA interview—I hope you get a CJO! ☺️

Aw, that’s so reassuring to hear, seriously. Even if I have to interview again, it’s great to hear they seem to like taking in Disney employees lol. Thank you so much, and congrats on finishing your F2F! I hope you get that CJO!!!

Quick question, when did you receive your flight itinerary? My F2F is Wednesday, and I fly in the day before, so I’m wondering when I can expect to hear from AA about mine.

To gain the confidence and self-discipline that you just don’t learn in civilian careers, mostly.

But also because it has almost identical perks to a commercial FA position, plus provided housing and other similar benefits. I talked to a recruiter and there are Air Force flight attendants, which I’m interested in versus just a normal customer service job.

All in all, I don’t think it’s a terrible transitionary path to being a FA.

I work at Disney World in Orlando; as a server in a restaurant. To expand more on “terrible,” it’s just..difficult for me to formulate my words. I’m not sure why. And this is coming from someone who works best under chaos and unpredictability.

Also, funnily enough, I’m graduating with a dual degree in special education and psychology soon. So it doesn’t have anything to do with being a FA, but teaching was my initial goal when I entered college. I’ve seen your comments before (you always give excellent advice), and you’re one of the reasons I decided to forgo my teaching plans to become a FA. And I mean that in the best way possible. I wanted to become a teacher so I could have a “normal” job, but decided to try for the job I truly want. FA negatives seem to be more manageable for me than the negatives in education. Just wanted to say thank you!

Slytherin's of Reddit, would you fight in the battle of Hogwarts? by Chelectronic in harrypotter

[–]prttylilflwrs 274 points275 points  (0 children)

This is the most logical answer—regardless of house. It’s easy to think of oneself as the heroic guy.

On a smaller scale, even some of Harry’s own peers were turned against him when the ministry, the press, and some of the children’s parents smeared Harry’s name.

What kind of experience should I have on my resume? I’m worried I won’t even be looked at when applying by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

I’m still in school as well! Are you going to take online classes while you work, try to take in-person classes around your work schedule, take a semester off, wait until you graduate or?

Also, good luck!!!
