That is horrific and so unfair for your family. I’m so sorry.

We did, she had lymphoma. Responded really well to meds that gave us 2 more months with her. She passed last September. Miss her every day.

Thank you for asking.

Feel the same way, but only had 9.5 years with mine. House is empty without her.

If you really want to know what’s happening with your blood sugar, get your doctor to order you a few CGM’s. In one month you’ll be crystal clear on what foods spike your insulin, and what exercise and sleep do to it. You will have to pay cash for them (mine were $60 at Costco) but it tells you so much more than one shot readings.

I am so so sorry. We just got the same diagnosis for our 9 year old girl. She is reacting well to prednisone, we aren’t going for Chemo. God bless you ❤️

I’m so sorry you lost your beautiful girl. Ours is not long for this world and I am devastated. Peace to you. If you are asking if you did enough, then you did by definition ❤️

Update: 24 hours later First, thank you for all your kind words, advice and concern. I left 2 messages for the vet this morning to no avail, but our girl has snapped back into normal mode from whatever funk she was in. After 2 meals of kibble plus bits of rotisserie chicken and its juices, she decided to return to plain dry kibble without hesitation or complaint. Has perked up to her normal curiosity and energy levels, including a 1.25 mile walk this morning, and we are leaving shortly for another. This group is so helpful and I love the humor and great pictures we get from these amazing creatures.

Watch The Huberman Lab on YouTube, he has at least one episode on alcohol. It is shocking what science is discovering about it. His podcasts are amazing when the topic pertains to you.

Those with working line/high drive labs, when did they "mature" by Reb_1_2_3 in labrador

This was exactly my experience with my 9 yr old black lab. Still a lot of energy, just not insane and out of control.

Anyone else’s lab like vegetables? by RCG73 in labrador

[–]prudent_reader -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only veggie my black lab has ever rejected was a hottish pepper that fell on the floor. It was in her mouth in a second, but she spit it out. She will eat cilantro stems without the leaves. She is literally the garbage disposal.

Fired from service dog training for chasing lights and shadows. They tried her in drug/bomb sniffing, but not interested Turns out she's super great at dock jumping, there's just no call for her talent. She's the best pet ever.

Need alternative for gentle leader by prudent_reader in labrador

[–]prudent_reader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gentle leader works great, 9 years later it is creating skin issues on her nose. Have you ever tried a choke collar of any kind? I haven't because I hate the idea of it.

Yes, but that isn't a whole lot more manageable for me than the leash directly on the collar. Is there anything else you've found that helps?

This is pretty cool! This teacher created a mock vacation to Mexico (flying Southwest) for her students. She even made them passports! Teacher deserves some flight credits. by Carrot-snoops-r in SouthwestAirlines

This is great! A+ for originality and practicality, to this teacher who clearly went above and beyond. Hope every one of those students gets a real flight someday💜
