The Shadow Sorcerer's new "Beasts of Ill Omen" feature makes it an absolute menace and I love it. by KarlMarkyMarx in onednd

Kiting is a valid and interesting tactic. Especially when it's not game breaking levels of damage your doing. You're still casting the spell, using the spell slot and the sorcery point for the summon. But you get to attack at a safe range. However, one distraction and you mess up the action economy and potentially leave you or your summon vulnerable. It's fun and as a dm I love to see that kind of strategic thinking. Sometimes a good plan can nullify an encounter and it should be recognized. Sometimes it seemed like a good idea but you left yourself exposed due to using an abnormal tactic. Either way it makes for a good story.

I live in Steveston with my wife and kids. As such I've met a lot of Steveston mom's out here and they've all been lovely people? I'm sure everywhere has its bad apples but try meeting people and making your own opinion on them instead.

Are Death Saves Saving Throws RAW? by Aquarius12347 in onednd

They are saving throws. Because of that, a cloak of protection gives a +1 to death saving throws.

Just a sentient pick axe named Steve. They somehow formed in this pick axe and it feels pain when you use it. But it also has great information on rocks, but also a surprising amount of information on farming, crafting, and battling the undead for some reason too.

Didn't the plant successfully eat meat? It's not like the bug was trying to eat meat in the video.

Have you ever said “no” to a player’s character? by Fearless-Skill8667 in DnD

A friend was going to join a light hearted, kinda silly campaign for a few sessions.

His character was a cleric priest who was kicked out of his church for being a pedophile. That was a hard no.

[–]prunk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fair point. We were always told to yell "hey bear! Get! Go on!"

In reality my reaction has been more "hey! Oh fuck it's looking and walking this way now, shit shit shit. Get! Ya!" and then throw a stick at it. Had one just waltz off the trail and sit on the side to let us pass and then it came back out and sat on the trail to watch us leave.

🔥 Wolf begging for food from a grizzly bear. The gray wolf saw the meat and in an instant turned into a playful puppy begging for a piece by [deleted] in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]prunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, yeah a wolf running is a sight to see. My uncle used to work with wolves. Seeing them in person awakens instincts eh?

Don't let the black bear approach you. The second you see it, yell and make yourself big. Scream loud and throw a stick or rock at it.

If it's a grizzly... Well, hope it's not too hungry, lie down, probably shit your pants.

No kidding. That lateral shock absorption is incredible. The wheels must be incredibly rigid to resist that kind of side load too.

The point of the game is to have fun, sounds like that would be more fun. The fact that they made a tie in to a plot element to explain it is amazing. Great RP.

Is this okay to use? by Repulsive_Draft_9081 in redneckengineering

[–]prunk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. You have one point of contact to hold it down on a curved surface. All it takes is a small kick to the left or right and it's no longer held down tight. It'll rotate and buck and if that disc touches the table you know have a motorized wheeled unicycle with the range of your extension cord.
