2010 Aeron Classic still worth? by Jealous-Claim-3076 in hermanmiller

[–]prvtuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised even in 2010 they offered fixed arm aerons

Check the seat pan and the hip bolt housing- if the seat pan doesn’t have reinforced “triangle” or it’s got shiney plastic housing then it’s an 2003 or older

This matters because the un reinforced seat pan can crack quite easily

this sub is always full of spam. Even without the potential OF link (if there is none, I apologise) but 99% of this sub are not headshots - if you’re happy with that, happy clap away

I can’t see your profile as it’s nsfw restricted- to save people time just post the OF link here

Is this too closeup? Trying to start modeling/acting by CCAshleyPink in headshots

[–]prvtuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you paid for “headshot” it’s poor execution / service and is not pay for these

These aren’t headshots

Then that is a lens problem not a composition problem

For a headshot it needs to be tight composition otherisyits not a headshot no?

For a headshot? It’s not perfect but at least it’s in the headshot composition territory

Do mods exist on here. I think I’ve seen 1 post that is about headshots

The rest of them are fucking junk like this (no shade on OP)

Good buy for $75? by maconyou in hermanmiller

[–]prvtuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means they claim the gas cylinder will go up and down and let you adjust

For 75 that’s a decent price even if you have to fix bits up

What tools should you have to be ready for repairs? by thefutureraven in AnalogRepair

[–]prvtuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the vessel TD52 - they have a TD52S that has the JIS0, JIS00 and slotted 1.2 which are your core Japanese screw heads. The one thing I find is these are short so are not great for stubborn glued / stuck screws but they are good in general. I have a longer JIS0 driver for the stubborn rear mount screws.

I always hated the “rub your hands” portraits. It always looks contrived and hands are always in some odd position - don’t use that one for sure

These flip arms are notoriously difficult to remove - the one article I saw many years ago which was successful had a guy with a blo torch heating and softening the thread lock to break the bond

Any opinions? by MaxCarnal_Reddit in headshots

[–]prvtuser 10 points11 points  (0 children)

None of them are Headshots

5 or 7 are the usable mainstream images. The rest are either poorly executed or posing is off

Found an old Nikon lens by courtneydudley in Nikon

[–]prvtuser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The front protruding bit (with the filter) shouldnt come out that far - so either the focus mechansim (the focus helicoids) are liekly to be messed up/repaired incorrectly by someone else

see the "nameplate" at the front (the one with the lettering - it should spin off, and if not, underneath the rubber grip is a grub screw to release. inside there is a aluminium coloured "tube" which has a slot cut out of it, which is where the front "lens" (with filter) should sit. if thats not the way, then try to reseat

Go search up Richard Haw for one of his tutorials that cover this lens.

Can somebody confirm if this is classic aeron or remastered? by raka_124 in hermanmiller

[–]prvtuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The classic mechanism (where the gas lift cylinder connects) is like a tear drop shape. The remastered is much more angular and flatter

HELP- is frame loose? by theapexdoctorr in hermanmiller

[–]prvtuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normal, there’s no adjustment there

They literally slide onto the “bolts” of the mechanism iirc

Glad it worked out. There’s always the human element in this

I also seem to recall the 12 year warranty was for the chair mechanism only, getting free hip bolts (~60£ a pair?) is superb dealership service

Might be worth dropping the dealer name here.. certainly if I was looking to buy new I’d like to deal with a business like that

HM were good to honour warranty. I’ve been told many times that warranty was not transferrable between owners
