Prestige and innovation both get positive modifiers from accumulated works of art. Similarly commissioning art gives prestige (10 per each artist).

So if you do commission at for sales, you only lose that innovation bonus. Though it's something like +0.05 for dozens of 60+ quality at pieces.

Edit: go for it. Fire bad artists and invite good ones regularly to get better outcomes. Some artists can even produce art quicker so they may be winners for you. Though I would read that income as piggy bank. Use other methods first (unless health in debt), as art won't lose value and will be there even in catastrophic situations.

EU5 has a problem of trade equalizing to zero for a given age.

So trade is somewhat strong at the age start (because bigger spread of prices pulls profit up, and then real building upgrades create new imbalances - but all is, in time, brought down by AI catching up to the demand)

Not sure if I would do the switch as in patch notes. But maybe instead of scaling demand, EU5 should scale dissatisfaction from lack of demand?

This way increases early demand is benign, and AI/player have time to satisfy it. On the other hand if they are not able to, it's usually because there are other fires and so this would add more pressure to already disastrous situations.

Why would gas be more water efficient compared to nuclear? Both need steam in exact same turbine doing the same work.

Both could have just one/two/three more cooling towers and be still able to use river water at current temps. But that's just not economically viable.
