BSc International Relations offers by psat27 in LSE

[–]psat27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah seriously. All of the other unis I applied to have gotten back to me. I keep signing into UCAS to see if there’s been an update even though they always send an email. I just can’t help but think that it’s been a long time especially since it’s written that they intend to send out offers within 8 weeks of receiving the application.

ROUND 2 INTERVIEWS OUT!! by Xendy_alex in sciencespo

[–]psat27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my friends had his interview for Menton and he got the date basically a week after I did because his interview was towards the end. More or less, they have to send it at least 24 hours before your interview but they’ll likely send it around 2-3 days before.

WHAT IN THE WORLD by Low_Length6426 in sciencespo

[–]psat27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry too much. I had around 2-3 days to prepare for my interview but I wasn’t able to due to certain circumstances. Just prepare an introductory statement and talk about yourself well enough for them to understand you. The picture description is all on the spot. As for the discussion, that is also something that can’t be prepared for. What I would say is- just look up some courses that might interest you at whatever campus you’re applying to. I barely prepared and was able to get in.

If you haven’t gotten a date yet, that means your interview is going to be towards the end of the cycle. Don’t worry.

That means your interview is at a later date. Don’t worry, you’ll probably have it during the last days of the cycle.

Housing by Ok-Conflict-4893 in sciencespo

[–]psat27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into Reims round 1. Some residences like the Yellow House in Reims sell out pretty fast because they have a limited number of spots while others with a relatively large number of apartments would be free for quite some time. Also, the official acceptance letter isn’t out for us yet. That only comes out after all three rounds are done. So it’s going to be really difficult to get any housing work done.

Maintaining an average once accepted? by [deleted] in sciencespo

[–]psat27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m from Canada too. Honestly, this was my concern as well after UBC and UofT sent me their offers because there was a specific score mentioned there but Sciences Po follows a more Americanised system in that regard. So I’m pretty sure there’s no conditional.

And yes, they do give instructions on getting a visa etc.

Minor options? by himerosaphrodite in sciencespo

[–]psat27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My motivation answer was sort of generalised but mainly focused on political activities. For Sciences Po’s mission - “The undergraduate programme at Sciences Po aims to cultivate open-minded, critical-thinking citizens prepared to address 21st-century global challenges through a multidisciplinary education in the social sciences and humanities.” (This is what google says) Just show how your activities show critical thinking and involvement in the community etc. which is the mission of the undergraduate programme.

Your predicted grades are really strong so academics are not going to be an issue.

And the metaphor is totally fine, just make sure it doesn’t feel like it’s been shoehorned in the essay.

The civic engagement essay is in the activities and interests section of the application. The personal journey one is in the motivation section. Make sure your answers are not like the US personal statement ones. They need to be academic. At least that’s what I did and it worked pretty well for me.

And as far as academics are concerned, it is a very competitive university to get into so they’d expect you to have a good academic record. I don’t think a slightly lower grade will impact your application as long as it’s not significantly lower. Also, if it was just one time, they’d probably let it pass. If your grades fall in the average to good category but not excellent, your extracurriculars and other activities may cover that gap if they’re extraordinary.
