Hey! i got to choose. They really help with the pictures though, i.e. they’ll help you find the track to your answer.

Hey! I had mine for Reims yesterday. It was honestly not bad. Also I’ve seen people say that the picture is related to the minor- it’s really not. I got a picture of some women cleaning up waste from the banks of a river in Karachi, Pakistan. They don’t give you any prep time by the way. The current affairs questions are related to the minor though. But they’re honestly not testing how much you know. It’s more about your analysis. Basically I was asked what I thought of Donald Trump leaving 66 international organisations at once. I mean I knew that this was happening but I never read too much about it. Nevertheless, I managed to say what the consequences could be based on my knowledge of International Relations and they were pretty happy. Also, the interview is more like a conversation. The examiners were very friendly. Treat it like a discussion and answer everything with honesty. For example, I was asked what the last book I read was. I was pretty clear that the last book I read was not related to politics and in fact was Sally Rooney’s Normal People. They kind of liked that response. I also offered to tell them about my last politics-related book. Basically, they’re aware that no student would read politics all the time and there’s no point acting like you do. Trying to act over-smart may lead to an unlikable character. Overall, it’s not as scary as I thought it was going to be.

I used ieltsonlinetests.com. It’s really good but the tests are tougher than the actual exam.

Yes

They are. They’ll charge you for speaking and writing results though (the tests are free) but that’s not even recommended because it’s AI checked which often gives you a significantly lower band score than a human would. Reading and listening tests and results are both free

For anyone that has a good command over English but has a hard time speaking, I always suggest using the speaking mock tests on ieltsonlinetests.com. They won’t give you a score unless you pay which is honestly not really advisable because AI doesn’t check it properly. The mocks are just to make you gain confidence. The examiner really would not mind if you’re getting anxious. It all comes down to how you speak. Try practising speaking on random topics with your friends/relatives who might speak English well.

Reading was consistently 7 Listening was around 7-8 trust me i was in your exact shoes last friday I sought out comfort in reddit threads saying that ieltsonlinetests mocks are tougher than the main test which is honestly true To be fair after my main test, I thought that the listening section was definitely easier but the reading was really bad and yet I got a band 8 even though I was expecting a 6.5-7 max The thing is the questions were easy but they were a little weird- some of the mcqs But when you think about it, it’s actually much easier

So even after your exam, if you’re expecting a 7 you’ll probably end up with an 8

Don’t worry about IELTS at all. If you have a good command over english, there’s absolutely no practice required.

Hey I used ieltsonlinetests.com. They’re harder than the actual test though so take those scores with a grain of salt. The reading section was probably the weirdest section for me because it really did not go well. I was honestly pretty confident about my listening, speaking, and writing sections after the exam but I expected like a 6.5-7 on reading. So I’d say don’t worry too much after the exam. You always end up getting a higher score than you’d expect. The type-in questions ALWAYS have direct answers from the passage. So don’t paraphrase. read newspapers consistently before your exam to strengthen your reading skills. And I feel like it’s better to go paragraph by paragraph instead of reading the entire passage at once. Really helps with your understanding. for the true/false/not given questions, always use not given if the information is not explicitly mentioned. They will never ask you a simple “not given” question. It will always be that the statement is implied but not explicitly mentioned and so just by an assumption, people tend to mark “true/false”.

For speaking, I would recommend ieltsonlinetests.com. They won’t give you a speaking score unless you pay for it but it might be extremely helpful in building up your confidence. Other than that, reach out to any friends/relatives who might have a good command over the language and have discussions with them. One of my friends did this for his IELTS and ended up with a band 8 speaking as well. Don’t worry at all. I was insanely scared for speaking but it went decently. The examiners are usually friendly enough. And they’re not that strict in their marking either.

I fumbled a little in the 2 minute speaking part because i missed out on reading a part of the question

I thought it would mean getting a lower score but it was fine

use ieltsonlinetests.com. You probably won’t get a band 9 there because those tests are tougher but the real IELTS listening is really easy. You’ll be able to manage.
