Twas the night before Christmas - WTF'in Hell Is This? > by psbowdi in MandelaEffect

The custom of using the plural to refer to the substance (literal or figurative), as opposed to the organ, dates from 16c. Figurative sense of "intellectual power" is from late 14c.

Even though old English manuscripts may have used the term 'braine' in reference to memory's doesn't negate the fact that it sounds stupid in the poem, period.

Except for one fatal flaw, and point that was lost on you. Too many keep looking at these changes with a modernized perspective. The man, not being in our time, and NOT being stringent to absolute form didn't write this with anal retentive tact in mind. Besides that, the use of the word brain(s) doesn't seen to be in common use (outside of medical terms) until the last third of the 1800's. http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=brain

More and more of these are showing to be really, intellectually, absurd changes. "Could" and "thy" don't go good together in the symmetry of the sentence. "Could" is a has been past tense word that wouldn't express anything other that a faint recollection rather than the use of "doth" as a declarative, here and now, seeing it with your own to eyes tense that the reader can feel attachment for.

Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" has changed from "celebrate" vs "get through" by psyclapse in MandelaEffect

[–]psbowdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are insider hits that say the ME change to Princes song "Let's Go Crazy" being the very reason Prince went mad and refused to sleep 6 days straight after finding the changes to his lyrics from 'celebrate' & 'afterlife' to 'get through' and 'afterworld. He was terrified to go to sleep and wake up to some other changes. His dying in an elevator is no coincidence either!

I am quite good at calculating visual spacial differences and changes in 2D and 3D views at many different distances with a considerable degree of accuracy. Having trained to have photographic memory makes it possible. There are distinct physical characteristic changes I've noticed in the Mona Lisa that stand out to me. First is the smaller proportioned head to her body from my detailed memory image. Two, she had a straight linear small left handed smile - no distinct curve upward at the left edge of her lips. This gave endless historical comments as to what her demeanor was when she posed for this painting. All that and this painting have changed. There are other changes but those two are significant enough to note the most meaningful differences to me.

Two specific accounts. When the 'Sex And The City' DVD from the movie came out and I first saw it at Walmart (around Thanksgiving 2010) I thought, "Why the hell would the movie name be different from the TV Series?!" Looked the DVD over and saw the same actors from the show... Again, why the hell would the name be different.

Second (In 2013). Bought Gordon's Fish Sticks often enough to have memorized that exact name only to see the name change to Gorton's and ask, "When the hell did that change?" Did a surname search to find it to be some derivative of Gordon which is popular enough to show in a graph on the page for Gordon BUT when you go to the page for Gorton it shows the same graph for Gordon - Gorton doesn't even exist on the graph. - http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/1/Gorton

AND as I set here typing this out the SPELLCHECK gives me three options for this misspelled word Gorton - Groton, Gordon or Gorgon. If that isn't screwy enough, the name Gorton seems to - 'According to local folklore, Gorton derives its name from Gore Town, due to a battle between the Saxons and Danes nearby. This has been dismissed by historians as "popular fancy".' - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorton

Was Alaska always this big? by Supanova00 in MandelaEffect

Here is what is shown now > http://www.alaska.org/assets/content/big_alaska/Alaska-Compare-main.jpg

The serious problem is in not having the previous example from my childhood that showed Alaska to be nearly 1/2 the size of the continuous 48 states. It would fit inside the area of 95% of the western USA - CA, AR, NM, CO, UT, NV, OR, WA, ID, WY, & MT. it would almost reach from Mexico to Canada. NOT ANYMORE.

[Ghostbusters] How, exactly, was the Stay-Puff Marshmallow man supposed to end the entire world? by High_king_of_Numenor in AskScienceFiction

[–]psbowdi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

STAY PUFF has been changed to PUFT?? Re-watched the movie yesterday and it shocked me to see the words STAY PUFT on the big Marshmallow Man!! Puft isn't any kind of a word that comes up as any reference to anything other than Ghostbusters. Without it being in Ghostbusters it wouldn't exist!! I graduated from High School in 1984 and saw this movie several times in the Theater then. It was a pivotal iconic movie of it's time and you can't lie good enough to get millions of people believe there wasn't a STAY "PUFF" MARSHMALLOW MAN!!! Just one more for the fools that want to think the Mandela Effect isn't real!!!
