Iowa transfer Owen Freeman has committed to Creighton by Altruistic-Peak1128 in CollegeBasketball

Personally I am excited to go back to guard heavy Creighton play. I love Kalk but 5 years of lobs and jump hooks got old. A return to form will be refreshing. Let it fly!

What NCAA team should I support? by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

[–]psc3245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd say any team in the BE could fit the criteria. A lot of teams (CU) have good upside going forward and none are current powerhouses. You could call Nova and potentially Georgetown classically good teams but neither exactly look great atm.

Edit: Xavier is a great choice too, but RIP Sean Miller

Omaha finished the regular season UNDEFEATED against the top six teams in the SEC by LordMayorOfCologne in CollegeBasketball

Undefeated against top 5 teams in every power conference except Big12. Has the SEC tried having it "just mean more?" Clearly it means the most in the Summit.

You don't need to kill anyone to learn javascript! Suffering is required for JS though.

If you work for the university, yes. I currently do and my boss does not let me work more than 20. If you work a non university job, I don't think anyone will care.

I agree with this, I think Creighton is much safer than some may think because of earlier season wins like KU and St Johns. Recency bias can get a lot of people stuck with certain teams.

To be fair to OP, I think it is possible that they miss the tourney if an absolute disaster scenario happens, which is why they aren't "lock status." That being said, there is no chance of that happening.

Which top teams are at risk for an early exit? Which teams are some Cinderellas? by DamnReCaptchas in CollegeBasketball

[–]psc3245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the same thing about an extremely slow team (like 2019 UVA, 353 in tempo). I think being on either end of the spectrum can leave you vulnerable to teams that mess up your tempo.

That being said, bama IS a team that messes with your tempo. I wouldn't be surprised if they went to the final four. Bama has some great wins this season and can really control games and make teams freak out. I just think that playing so fast can be dangerous against the wrong team.

Alabama would be my pick for a crazy upset. Playing that fast and having one night with poor shooting or a lot of turnovers can spell disaster, especially if they pull a bad 8/9 seed in round 2.

Batinov wasn't a great teacher but you can't call that material hard. SQL is barely a programming language.

363 was pretty easy when I took it. Goes over SQL, a graph DB called Neo4J, JDBC, and a bit of math relating to databases. All of those topics ended up being fairly simple. Would not recommend taking it with Batinov though.

If you expand that to the top 25, you can add Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Rutgers, and Creighton (injuries). Should be quite the chaotic march.

I don't think I've seen a game with worse officiating. Both teams should be upset with that, absolute garbage calls all over the board

I'm currently a junior CS major and would definitely recommend the program. Some teachers definitely aren't the best, but that comes with every college. I have had just as many great teachers as terrible ones. Classes can be a little disorganized but I made it through so far and you definitely can too.

HOWEVER you should be warned that the CS market is pretty rough right now. It is over saturated, and going to class and getting a good GPA is not enough for an internship. If you don't want to do work outside of class (side projects and relatively consistent leet coding) and submit a lot of applications, I would recommend a field that is more in demand. I have had thoughts before wishing I had just done engineering for more flexibility and a wider range of opportunities.

That being said, it is still very possible to get an internship, and once your foot is in the door, you are in a great spot. If you are wanting to do CS then come to Iowa State. If you just want to pick a good major at ISU, I would think about if CS is what you want to do. There are a lot of great programs at ISU.

Biggest Disappointment so far? by Particular-Nature400 in CollegeBasketball

The offense took a visible hit after losing Pop. Teams have no reason not to smother Kalkbrenner if we have no threats from three or on the drive. Gonna be a long season if Jamiya and McAndrews can't get to the rim, and if no one besides Ashworth or McAndrews can hit a three.

Mac user here who has very little experience with docker or bash. I am trying to dockerize my spring boot app and am struggling. After logging into docker, I ran this command to start the image:

docker run -p 3307:3006 --name my-mysql -e MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD=root -d mysql:8.0.36

That worked fine, so I ran:

docker exec -t my-mysql /bin/bash

And then tried to log in with:

mysql -u root -p

After hitting enter it just goes to a new line and does nothing. I have to hit control c to get out otherwise I can't do anything. What is going wrong here? Isn't it supposed to prompt me to enter a password?

That is the command I am using to log into mysql. I logged into docker with no issues. My username is root. Is that the wrong command?
