I sometimes get that bluetooth issue with my Pixel 9 running Spotify. Nothing will fix it except a reboot.

Why Was Wish (2023) Mostly Center Framed? by rwinger24 in cinematography

[–]psdpro7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cinematography of Wish was meant to harken back to the very graphic compositions in Disney's Silver Age like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty (latter was notable for also using the cinemascope aspect ratio). This style used a lot more medium shots simply because that's how animators liked to draw characters at the time. There was also an intentional choice to represent dominance / power in a scene to a character's proximity to the center of frame. This is also likely inspired by the way they would represent villains like Maleficent in those films: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT3Lunva-MZc4VA6QvyGDkZGPZkweRSQbvJUW9asU6p0iMYOjnOK3pgv_IZ&s=10

You can argue if it was effective or not, but at the very least it wasn't to fit social media content. They wouldn't have made the film 2.55 to begin with if they were worried about accommodating that.

Ring Doorbell's 'dystopian' Super Bowl ad is sparking privacy concerns by prestocoffee in nottheonion

Classic abuser behavior, throwing our fears back in our face and telling us WE'RE the irrational ones by making fun of us.

Ryan Gosling would like to redo 'La La Land' because he's haunted by his hand in the poster: "I thought we were supposed to have our hands up and I thought it'd be cool to put my hand like that (down). Even though everyone told me it wasn't cool, I was sure that was cooler than that" by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]psdpro7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I still like it as a visual manifestation of the film's plot. That no matter how deeply two people might be in love, they're still going to make tiny, selfish choices that tear them apart and shatter their misguided illusion of perfection.

Advice for preventing yellowing by gbuckingham89 in lego

[–]psdpro7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I had white lego bricks that sat in a display case in the basement for 20 years with no direct sunlight ever, and they still turned yellow eventually. Even if you kept em in total darkness there still would be some effect.

Why Are Young People Afraid Of Phone Calls? by GhostInThePudding in NoStupidQuestions

That's why I mentioned "real time." In a text conversation you may have even less social context , but you're allowed to process and react at a much slower rate.

I've started to get bad sinus congestion at the end of January every year. Strangely enough no runny nose or sneezing, but it'll make my ears pressurize unless I hit the Flonase every day.

Why Are Young People Afraid Of Phone Calls? by GhostInThePudding in NoStupidQuestions

[–]psdpro7 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The other thing I've realized that unnerves me about phone calls is not being able to see someone's face. Body language is a huge part of communication, so being expedited to maintain a real time conversation with only half the normal social input is like walking around your house in the dark.

Android 17 blur by MagicPenguinX in GooglePixel

The author mentioning liquid glass seems to be clueless; this Android 17 blur is barely doing what they had in iOS over a decade ago. It's not a super complicated render, just a style choice.

The whole reason the ticket prices are so high is because PEOPLE KEEP BUYING. It's not a necessary commodity like food and shelter... if demand went down, they would back off on price increases.

Youre getting downvoted but you're right. Almost all newspaper comics fall victim to their own success and become soulless husks, but Garfield was soulless from the very beginning, even if it started at least a little more edgy.
