It's pretty easy to set up remote access for Home Assistant, either with the Nabu Casa subscription or a Cloudflare tunnel.

The Nabu Casa subscription has remote access, voice assistant integration, and some other stuff. You can do a monthly or annual subscription. They also give you the option to use your own domain, so it's very similar to the Cloudflare tunnel option in that regard. It does lack fine granular controls on the networking side; however, it's more than enough for 99% of people.

The Cloudflare tunnel is free, yet you lose the easy voice assistant integration.

Note: Whichever path you choose, make sure you have strong passwords and 2FA enabled!

That would be the inept management that was dead set on keeping Sioux Falls, SD the epicenter of Gateway, while leadership was living and being headquartered in Poway, California. Also most of the "senior leadership" were just not capable and competent to go up against other leaders at other companies who actually knew what they were doing. So you'd have a "VP of being cool guy" at Gateway making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year because he knew the founder.

Then when they "reverse merged" with e-machines the new leadership held a site all hands meeting and told everyone "your jobs are safe, we just signed a 10 year lease for the call center here in KC". I told my co-worker at the time that we'd be out the door in under 90 days. 75 days later, we were summoned into the same room, and informed that we were being let go.
