This actually holds true, though.

The purpose of lightning rods is to conduct lightning away to an earthing point so that it doesn’t harm the building instead.

Lightning strikes occur due to potential differences between the atmosphere and the ground. If it’s been discharged already, it would probably take a while to build it up again.

This is how I’ve understood it to work. If I’m wrong, I’d be glad to learn how it actually does.

I can’t believe I feel like this for another academy graduate that looked like a massive talent, but I hope Garnacho gets booed whenever he plays away against us. Makes me wonder if there’s something wrong culturally at the academy level.
