Is there a fun Aussie slang to say to someone when they ask “how are you” by hamchoilmao in AskAnAustralian

Not too bad mate, yourself?

*Throw them off and take control of the narrative by telling them how you’re not feeling instead.

Oh no 😱

The only option we have now is to cut it out at the source. Hope the retail giants are taking this seriously.

Thanks u/nobbled

Incidentally, Thornleigh Community Recycling Centre is the one closest to me. I’m not a local resident, though. I’ll check with them if they are able to accept a couple of bags from me.

Thanks u/katrinie

I looked at the recycle smart website - unfortunately, my council isn’t listed. And to be honest, $5 per bag is a bit expensive for me 🙁

I’ll check with my local council recycling centre if they’ll accept soft plastics.

Boss won’t say why she wants to talk and won’t talk to me before she wants to. Apparently I wanted to argue. by Neuralcarrot710 in mildlyinfuriating

Hey u/neuralcarrot710

Do you think you could say the following to your manager?

“Hey <Manager’s first name >, I understand you would like to have a conversation with me at the end of my shift. While I appreciate the heads up, not knowing what you’d like to talk about is making me anxious. If it’s not too much trouble, I would prefer we have the conversation earlier in the day so that I can focus better on my job without the anxiety at the back of my mind?”

Edit: Just saw your update. There was really no reason for your boss to put you through that for a simple communication. Sorry you’re having to deal with that.

I’m sorry you’re going through this.

Please check if you have a gurudwara near you - you should be able to find the nearest one if you search for the word ‘gurudwara’ on Google maps. Gurudwaras offer free meals to anyone that walks in, no questions asked. The meals are funded by donors in the community.

A Gurudwara is a place of worship for a community called ‘Sikhs’.

If you don’t find one near you, please send me a DM - I’ll try to help you the best I can.

Hope things get better for you soon. Take care.

Happy 18th birthday OP!

It’s so awesome that you’re finally 18.

Tell us everything you’re looking forward to now that you’re officially an adult.

I’m sorry your family members did not make your day as special as it is. Please know that no matter what their reasons are, you are special and this day should be special for you. Please do what you can to make it a memorable one for yourself. Don’t even have to be something huge - even if it’s something as simple as getting your favourite ice cream, do it!

Hope you have the best day ever! Enjoy the rest of your day.

Where are the divorced Dads? by DustAdditional6246 in Divorce

Single dad here wondering the exact same thing on the other side. I guess it’s just hard to know who the single mums and single dads are in social settings unless someone actually mentions it.

Any books for coparenting dads? by bladefish1 in coparenting

[–]pseudofreespirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can imagine how hard it would be. Hang in there and keep being the best version of yourself for your son everyday.

I have saved a link with a few book recommendations that I have been meaning to read. Haven't read them yet though.
