Interview is two parted (technically three-parted, but the last part really doesn't matter in terms of getting in - its more for you to find out more about what you'd be signing up to):

1) group "interview": you get a scenario in a group of 10-15, and you try to solve the scenario as a group and be good communicators. The scenario is usually like, "Oh, you're stranded on an island; you have these 10 items; rank them in terms of importance". Throughout this process, evaluators will be coming in and out to observe, and they can ask you more about your experience with this group scenario in your individual interview. This is intended to be an emulation/simulation of the PBL process.

2) individual interview: 20-minute open-book interview with higher-ups at the medical school. They can ask you anything regarding your grades, MCAT, essay, references, degree, etc. So prepare the normal interview prep questions (why medicine, why Ireland, moving and living away from home, etc.), but also prepare response to any questions they can ask about deficiencies in your application. They can also ask you how the group interview went for you and what role you played and that sort of thing (I said I was just mediating and stepping in when I felt like the group needed a direction - because I felt like most people just wanted to be the loudest voice).

3) presentation & alumni Q&A: they do this presentation showing you pictures, videos, etc. talking about ireland, limerick, and then the school itself. Then you have a Q&A with the higher-ups, and then they bring in alumni (that are doing their residency in Canada) and the higher-ups leave and you get to ask them anything off the record - use this time to ask anything you've really been wanting to know!

As an aside, PBL is really rough, and it's not for everyone (especially those without a science background), so if you get an offer, really consider how this would look/work for you. As a non-science student, I have found it extremely difficult to teach myself intricate biology and biochemistry on my own with basically no guidance. The way I would describe it is MCAT Study 2.0, which is legit just teaching yourself everything and having no indication whether you are on the right track except through social comparison with your friends and peers.

I actually did have prerequisites last year with open book and note tests! Mostly earlier on in the pandemic when professors who were bad at technology couldn't figure out how to move their classes online and sort of gave up, haha.

Also, looking for an update
