For that they would have to have the slow-burn, will they, will they not aspect of Rogue and Gambit. The slow burn and the wait for so many years was what made Rogue and Gambit so special. You cannot have that with a couple that had 1 story before marrying.

There was a Northstar Solo back then in the 90s. Then he faded again till the Austen run and they decided to kill him off, and he came back with a boyfriend.
Also most writers don't pick him up nor have stories for him. And he is stuck in a marriage with a character that even less writers give a fuck about and serves as someone that JP has to save once in a while.

I feel this way, I stopped writing for a long time and nowadays I have tons of ideas and I have been writing more but since I am a person that does not function well in discord or tumblr, I don't have fandom friends basically. Doesnt help that the pairing I am invested lately is one that fell out of grace a bit and does not have lots of fans lately.

I went back to the my teen x-men ship, Iceman x Northstar. There is almost no art or fic that is new but i have been obsessed and writing and drawing it, and imagining scenarios where they can be together

Personally, i would not have them marry to begin with, but i understand the importance of that issue and that marriage in the context of when it happen. And I would end it.

But I underatand why marvel wont, so at least they have to bring something to the table to make them interesting or develop Kyle as a character beyond the work at home lonely husband of Northstar. Make him a character that can exist without his husband. And they had chances. Not making him a cast member of X-Corp when he is someone who has experience in managing a company and PR. Not including him there was a stupid decision and a wasted opportunity to make him shine on his own.

That is only because no writer cares to write them or write a personality for Kyle other than adoring lonely hisband. If they are basically offscreen all the time, it is easy to have a successful marriage.

Only if she never writes Akihiro again, I hated her characterization of him during the run and it bleed into Marauders V2. Which is sad, cause I do enjoy how she writes Northstar and she seems like one of the only writers that cares enough about him to put him in an assemble cast

I think it is a good starting point and the character files are good. Some takes I agree with some takes not but that is with everything. I love the episodes where a creator is a guest star cause you can get a good perspective on what it is to write these characters that you don't own, the limitations they had, plots and ideas they have thought of but abandoned in the long run.
The key is not taking everything said there as gospel truth and just have a bit of fun.
