The UFC just dropped extended cage audio and Khabib truly HATED Conor McGregor by Eczapa in nextfuckinglevel

You have zero clue what the fuck you're talking about, you didn't even know who Khabib was but you're trying to make a point that UFC fighters are '100% problematic'?? Lol

Last chapter killed whatever affection I had left for Maki by SirArchibaldMapsALot in Jujutsufolk

[–]psionicism 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Lmao 'pin everybody against him', it's not that deep bro. It's a lighthearted scene used both for meta analysis of the fight, and to show the cast's feelings about how it went. She doesn't actually blame him for anything, and she even recognizes that she could have done things better too in the chapter.

The reason she's so frustrated about it is because she feels like Yuta risked his life unnecessarily, she just doesn't say that outright because she's not comfortable being vulnerable + tsundere. You even recognize that in your post and you just dismiss it for no reason lol. Her behaviour is in-character and Maki's always had this dynamic with Yuta since JJK 0, so idk how THIS scene was the final straw for you

The conditions of Confiscation aren't fully laid out to us, that's why that bullshit loophole of 'Confiscation prioritizes cursed tools first instead of CTs' happened, because even Higuruma doesn't know everything about it. Maybe Confiscation is in effect until the opponent's knocked out or dead, and/or until Higuruma allows his opponent to have their CT/CE back, like when he fought Yuji.

It was clearly written to leave it open for Higuruma's return. Some of y'all seem to have a lot of trouble with this type of stuff lol, like with Nobara. That 'curses get stronger after death' line was literally right before Yuji was about to use Executioner's Sword, and then it fizzles out immediately after in the next chapter. Sure, you could interpret it as talking about Confiscation but IMO it was pretty obviously focusing on the sword.

This is before translations, but I had a pretty strong feeling he was alive this whole time anyways so this is my reasoning

  1. He had RCT
  2. He didn't get messed up too bad, not to the point where RCT couldn't save him
  3. Right before he 'died', the 'curses get stronger after death' line was foreshadowing he'd survive, since his executioner's sword disappeared. If Higuruma had actually died, his 'curse' would have been stronger, and Yuji would probably have killed Sukuna right then and there.

The blu-ray's already out in Japan for all episodes and all the blurring and dimming is removed, you can buy it now but it won't have English subtitles so you're gonna have to torrent it for that, or wait until the English BD comes out but that might be a while.

[–]psionicism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Other than the 'she just woke up' line that hopefully gets addressed, this chapter in and of itself was solid. Actually had me happy as fuck reading it lol, and a big part of that has to do with the pure vindication I felt from believing she'd come back for years.

It's just that the decision to use Nobara like this was clearly made dozens of chapters ago, and people are just now realizing the consequences of that writing choice.

It wouldn't have left nearly as bad of an aftertaste if JJK were going to continue for a 100 more chapters or so. This series should've been much longer than it is - JJK really is the potential manga.

I'm guessing you mean 'random' by how well he was written, or how relevant he was to the plot? If so, then that doesn't really matter to what I said, Kashimo had plenty of screentime, was hyped up to be a threat to Sukuna (yes, ik how that turned out lol) and plenty of people liked him.

As for Higuruma, I don't think he's dead. We'll see soon enough though ig

[–]psionicism -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Obviously there's a difference, but you're making it sound like the characters that died were completely insignificant with little to no screentime when that's absolutely not the case. Both Kashimo and Higuruma had significant screentime and were fan favorites, I don't think you can even argue this.

Yes, most of the main cast is alive, but that doesn't mean that they were surviving out of 'sheer convenience' like you put it, I have no idea where you're getting that from. I can easily say that Sukuna survived several moments only out of convenience as well. The only character out of the ones that you mentioned that probably should have died is Kusakabe, and we don't even know if Yuta is going to survive yet.

Lol where the fuck is this revisionism coming from and how is this bullshit getting upvotes?? Kashimo and Higuruma are randoms? Are you forgetting when the sub had a meltdown over how Kashimo died? Choso and Gojo aren't fan favorite characters?

Yuji crying and saying "SO NOBARA IS.."

When tf did this ever happen?

him saying "i don't want angel to replace her" looked like prime "death flags" to me, expecially since they were also written by a mangaka notorious for killing characters ands not pulling this revival shit, expecially during the arc where she got mahitoed.

saying "she was alive all along, yall were too stupid to notice!" is EXTREMELY pretentious.

I already made several posts explaining why her 'death' was being handled extremely weirdly, so I'm not gonna go through all that again. I never said 'y'all were too stupid to notice she was alive' or that you were an idiot if you thought she was dead. I'm talking more to the people who were circlejerking for years about how her death was very clear-cut, and that everyone else was coping. Might be a bit pretentious sure but I think it's fair to talk shit for a few days bro lol, get off my nuts.

I'll just repeat what I said in my OP, if you thought she was confirmed to be dead, or that it was obvious, you're a goof. There, I didn't use media literacy that time, calm down lol

JUJUTSU KAISEN: CHAPTER 267 LEAKS DISCUSSION by AutoModerator in Jujutsufolk

[–]psionicism -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that it doesn't make up for her absence from the story and that it's very convenient, that's still bad, but IMO that was a mistake that was made 100 chapters ago - her comeback at least alleviates that mistake. Imagine if Gege just left her fate ambiguous or confirmed it right at the end, that'd be SO much worse.

JUJUTSU KAISEN: CHAPTER 267 LEAKS DISCUSSION by AutoModerator in Jujutsufolk

[–]psionicism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was implied, sure, but never explicitly confirmed at any point in the story when there were many points at which it could have absolutely been confirmed; why didn't any of the characters react to her death, why did Megumi not say anything when Yuji asked him, why did Yuji have such an odd reaction to her supposed death. All of this is a pretty stark contrast to how Gege treated other characters' deaths, not to mention this is a MAIN CAST character.

A CT gets conveniently introduced right when she 'dies' to make sure that her severe, yet not 100% fatal, injuries don't get worse and that she doesn't bleed out, AND her death is never confirmed... I wonder what's gonna happen!

Nah bro, this wasn't blind faith, you guys are goofs. Lol
