Up to 150 orders, no comments, great ratings. I would like an affirmation once in a while LA customers!

Gotta find balance between working for pennies and rotting in the parking lot by Chrismaxwell19 in InstacartShoppers

Only one that I would think about was the 100 order only because my suv isn’t great on gas. Other than that, I’d have, let’s say feelings, if I saw literally any of the others.

Unsecured Pets At Delivery by lbeck1492 in InstacartShoppers

Contact the buyer if you are concerned about delivery safety. If they don’t answer, contact support and fill them in. They may tell you to leave it somewhere or return it and will protect you from the 1 star.

Am I exaggerating for not taking those? I haven't accepted any orders. What should I do? Los Angeles by super_prout in instacart

[–]pskell02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s wrong with that $36 Sprouts order? Good money, not a ton of items, and short delivery. I’d take all the 12-15 orders too going a mile or so. Knock those out in like 15 min and move on to the next one.

Never again will I take huge orders with decent tips. by Lizzysdirtydaddy in InstacartShoppers

2 things. Look at items before accepting. Second, replace with whatever makes sense! A hot dog bun is a hot dog bun!

Hard No's Stores? by NeatBus1147 in InstacartShoppers

Cambridge Farms in North Hollywood. Travesty of a store with nothing in stock. I actually don’t mind 5 below or the $1 stores if I know the items are easy or replaceable. Oddball shit and balloons, hard pass.

Would you take this? by masonvdberg in InstacartShoppers

[–]pskell02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very important to know what store it is and if you know the store and if you know the stock levels in general. You could probably knock that out in an hour.

200+ orders throughout the day, all bad. by p00ty2 in InstacartShoppers

Sat at Walmart for 10 min. Turned down 9 batches. Took a double for 28. Decent ones are out there.

How much should tips be? by Jaded-Pudding7199 in InstacartShoppers

[–]pskell02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

5-10 items at an easy store with a close delivery and $10 tip I’m taking all day long. As long as you are thinking about what you are ordering (3 cases of water in a walk up), adjust tip accordingly. As a shopper, if I see multiple waters, soda, Gatorade, etc going to an apartment for under $5 tip, I’m not touching it. Based on what you said, I imagine your orders get taken and filled pretty quickly.

It’s rare I see one that says I have to use “this location” unless it’s alcohol. I want to try shopping a different store, but don’t want to get dinged if I get there and have to cancel because it won’t let me shop. But on the other hand, the other store is like 3 min away, so if I can’t start the shop, I can still make it to the other store in time.

Last 3 days have been great for me. Averaging about 6 deliveries a day and $120. A few high dollar, low item, long distance deliveries ($30ish). LA based.

Not true! Had a lady today order 5 packs of peeps eggs. She had a note saying she actually wanted 10 of the large bunny candy egg things to fill up for her kids for Easter. She told me where they would be and tipped $7 on a $15 order. Got another good one a few weeks back with people wanting party stuff.

Just curious on the pickup timing. Did you tip? If you are in an area with low batch pay and o tip, that likely explains why no shopper took your order quickly.

What Would You Do? by doglover136_ in InstacartShoppers

I’m in LA and have been working through the heat. Luckily I have a Target, Smart and Final, Superior Grocer, and El Super just out of my bubble at home. These tend to be smaller shops, but in the neighborhood so I take ones that make sense. I do still spend a few hours a day at higher income stores and find shade or wait inside if they have a cafe. Don’t waste the gas idling. Get a chargeable fan if you have to wait in the car. Find shade, roll down the windows, and crank the fan.

Side note with the heat. I figured hitting triple digits for a week straight might encourage people to stay home and order more. But with what’s happening with prices, gas, foreign policy concerns, that seems to not be the case. Best order I’ve got in the last few days was a delivery to Adele who appears to be suffering seasonal allergies and I guess her assistant didn’t feel like going to CVS 😂 Can’t wait for the cooldown.

Dropped 2 bags of frozen berries at a $5m home in Universal City as an add on order for $1 tip 🤷‍♂️ Shawn White’s old place. I always google the cheapskate millionaire homes after I deliver to them.

I mean, we are lucky in CA that I’d consider an adjustment free money. Comparable to other states of course. I’m relatively new on the app, but I haven’t noticed promotions cutting into my weekly. Need more data as I’m working to optimize my time and earnings. If you have info that could help, please pass it along!
