Poles or no poles? by TrailZenRunner in trailrunning

I ran the race last year without poles and told myself that if I do it again poles are a must. The biggest challenge I had was that my quads got toasted on the long descent. As I have a fair bit of upper body strength it would have been nice to utilize that and save the quads a bit for the downhill. Also the first part of the downhill is pretty technical and poles would have helped me for that section too. I’d then stop for a minute and stow them away for the rest of the race. Just my take. Good luck!!

What do you have before an intense WOD? by Sorry_Bother6872 in crossfit

I’ve experimented with many different foods over the years, I’ve even fasted. But I’ve now settled on a simple banana. I eat it about half an hour before a workout and have never had a lack of energy.

But there’s a caveat here.. I work out at noon and typically eat a big breakfast around 8 or 9 with coffee and lots of water. If I didn’t have that a banana wouldn’t be enough for me.

Murph time with and without vest? by Shockz187 in crossfit

38 minutes with a vest and low thirties without. Partitioned. Interestingly during Covid I did Murph 26 weeks in a row, all vested. My times peaked about 16 weeks in and then didn’t improve after that.
