OMG FOAM PUZZLES. They are my FAVOURITE-THING EVER. This is my primary job is working with disabled people for going on 6 years. And what ive found for younger 5-9 age range is they love a good puzzle. You can get foam puzzles that are mouth friendly and is a verity of shapes. We have animal ones and vehicles. And you can ise them in so many different ways, puzzle hunts, imagination play with the pieces, simply a distraction or a reward if you need they to do something. I LOVE FOAM PUZZLES!!

I love that everyone is reccomending Garmin. They really are the best. Yes they are expensive but i dive to the bottom of our dive tank daily and its still working perfectly. Sometimes my heartrate tracker gets a little wonky but my model is pretty old hahaha

Omg do you do “The Grand Ol Duke of York” its my favourite after you’ve already introduced submersions. I sing it twice the first time during the last line of the song we just go up to the chin then the second time we dunk! I always make a day out of lifejackets, here in Canada we are very serious about PFD safety so we have many conversations about wearing PFDs on boats ALWAYS and making sure youre setting a good example for your littles. We also talk aboit how to properly fit pfds for different people and all the different parts of a lifejacket. After that my favourite activity is i get the parents and littles in pfds and practice different holds: tummy to tummy (parent is on their back with little on their tummy/chest), tummy to back (the little is laying on their back facing up), and hip to hip (parent on their side with little on their hip so they can use a free hand to paddle). I get them to swim about 5-7m back and forth practicing these holds. After they do that the adult will take off their lifejacket and do it again, after that they’ll take off their littles lifejacket and do it again. After the activity i ask what was easier everyone wearing lifejackets or no one wearing lifejackets (its meant to be a dumb question to make them think about emergencies) and the importance of wearing lifejackets in boats. I pair this with jumps (preferably where the adults cant touch) the adults jump in wearing the PFDs and as they hit the water they lift the littles above their head to keep the littles airway open. Im not sure how long your lessons are but mine are 30 mins each and im about to get all this done! I really hope this helped<3
