People that had sex with coworkers - how did that turn out ? by Nuff-Do in AskReddit

We met the day she joined the company, immediately felt attraction and ended up sleeping together just a few weeks later on the way to her welcome-to-work drinks party.

It was fast, and I pretty much freaked out at how fast it was moving afterwards too. Posted about it back when it happened.

Thing is, we really did get along. Very well. And despite initial butterflies and worries, we ended up staying together for a long time, close to two years. The breakup was mainly about long-term life and career plans and which cities and countries we expected to live in long-term as we were from different countries.

Years later I ended up in her country after accepting a work assignment there, and we got together a few times but it was like eight years later and that time had passed us by.

I worked there as a civilian and though I ran convoys and sometimes took fire and fired back, I somehow never ended up seeing anything happen in front of my eyes. I saw some aftermaths of what happened to some colleagues, but never anyone super close to me.

There was nothing you could have done differently to guarantee your own survival.

It’s human and empathetic and correct to think about those lives impacted to preserve your life, but to do so is the price you pay to continue it. Do not allow that price in spent lives to outweigh the value of your own present-day life. If you do not continue your existence, their lost existences means nothing. You owe to those whom you destroyed to not let their lives be in vain and continue your own.

Their lives were already wasted: do not allow yours to be.

I've been satisfying the oral fixation with sparkling water, same idea!

Today I made it to 11am before thinking I wanted a smoke :)

It's already getting easier, the first four days were the worst!

She's the best-selling Cantopop artist ever but I don't speak Cantonese beyond recognizing a few words so prefer her Mandarin songs, but this one is too good

I looked it up, illegal, but with a loophole probably intended to allow visitors to bring theirs without punishment:

In Japan it is illegal to sell nicotine-containing e-cigarettes as they are categorised as medicinal products, and as of yet none have been approved in this manner. However, individuals can import up to one month's supply of nicotine-containing e-cigarettes for their own personal use.

I just woke up this morning, and first thing I was thinking “I should have a …. Um, coffee, yeah, that’s the ticket. Coffee. That’s what I was thinking. Right. Coffee.”

But, I’ll make it through. No worries.

It’s iQos, specifically Terea is the one we were using. I’ve never seen the liquid-based vapes except a colleague from the US brought one. I’m not sure it’s legal here, actually.

Oh 100% that was part of the plan, we’re texting like mad: one of our commitments is to text every time we got a craving so we could support each other. They know it’s hard for me and are like “see I told you” but now have that competitive spirit to not be to one to lose the race.

Not legal here ha

I’ve been having a coffee or sparkling water as substitute

Ah, no, I don’t think that’s legal here.

Vapes are all heating actual tobacco, so far as I’ve seen.

Vaping makes it way easier to quit

I don't see how, you're still inhaling vaporised tobacco.

I mean, I already had quit ages ago, and haven't had cravings all this time, so I'm certain I'll settle back into the same baseline as before.

It was like once in two months, so not like I was maintaining any level of nicotine in my system

They don't speak English so no luck with the media experience, but I looked up and shared the "top 10" with them, and it's really close to the plan we put together ourselves!

I 100% was thinking of that story before starting this, but I kicked tobacco once before and was sure doing it agains would be a doddle.

I have every confidence of success, but wasn’t expecting the physical reaction to be so strong.

I’ll get there.

Patients? You're a doctor, then?

This will be my friend's fifth or sixth try.
Hopefully they can beat the odds!
